Chapter 30 Of American Gangster.
Carlos and Ricardo grinned triumphantly that they managed to persuade me to let them come with me and we all looked around with interest. This place was amazing. Braeden Colt?" A girl around the age of 7 asked and I stopped in my tracks and looked down at her. Her hair was in cute loose Dutch braids and her dimples showed brightly from the light. Who was she?
"Yes?"
"Can I have please have an autograph? I'm such a big fan! I heard how you killed your best friends when you found out who his father was." I swallowed and looked at the boys who didn't seem so surprised. They must have known about it already so that was good.
"Where do you want it, hun?" I asked and even bigger smile appeared on her face. Her happiness was contagious and it made me smile when I looked at her. This girl was absolutely adorable. I leant down on one knee as she handed me her gun and a white permanent marker pen. I wrote my signature and then copied some of the others from my gang and she stared in shock.
"No way! Rocco Rometti, Tyson Rometti, Justin Milos, Roxie Carter, Felix Burns, Jack Kingston, Sophia Grace, Rhys Darby! That's nearly all of your friends in the gang!"
"Who's the leader?" I asked.
"You are." She smirked. "You're better than Felix."
"Can you say that again?" I asked, taking out my phone and videoing it. "Who's the leader?" I repeated.
"You are. You're better than Felix!" She stuck out her tongue and giggled, running away after she said thank you repeatedly. I stopped recording and quickly sent the video to the group chat then stood back up.
"That just fed your ego didn't it?" Someone asked behind me and we all turned around, looking at the tall man in front of us. He was attractive, extremely attractive. He had the richest Spanish accent I had ever heard in my life and he was extremely built, he had tattoos that crawled from his neck all the way to his fingers and I stared in amazement. "Braeden Colt, you look even better in person."
"Damn right I do." I crossed my arms and he chuckled deeply.
"Who are these?" He asked, looking at the two boys who stood behind me.
"Ricardo and Carlos. They're interested in gangs and crime, I'm going to train them to be almost as good as me."
"Good thinking. Don't train someone to be better than you." He looked at their surprised faces. They didn't know I was going to train them to fight and shoot better. "Do they speak or are they mutes?"
"They speak," Ricardo said, holding the man's ice stone glare and I stopped the laugh from coming out my mouth. There was his confident side.
"They seem cool." He shrugged and broke eye contact with Ricardo. "Let's talk business. I see you already met my daughter."
"Your daughter?" I asked and he nodded. "She's cute and I normally don't like children." He opened the door to his office and we all sat down in a chair once he closed the door.
"Again, I'm sorry for those idiots having a gun to your head. They just wanted to see if you were what they say you are."
"What's that?"
"The most dangerous woman in the world." His tone was different, it was colder and it sounded sexier. It was more spine shivering and I loved it. "Gabriel!" He yelled and the same man who had the gun to my head ran in.
"B-Boss?" He asked and turned to me and gulped.
"Where's the god damn box?" He growled.
"I'll get it now!" He ran out.
"They take you serious here don't they?"
"I don't mess around Braeden and I don't think you do either." He leaned closer and I held in my breath. This man was scarier than I realised. "Do you?"
"No." I kept my voice strong. "Messing around gets you killed." He leaned back into his chair and a grin formed on his face.
"I like you already. Oh, my name's Rio." A heavy box was placed on the table and made a loud bang. He pushed it to me as if it wasn't heavy at all and I quickly opened it, my mouth dropping as I did. "A free gift from us to you. It's an exact replica of your gun except it's more powerful, expensive and has a few upgrades. It's also covered in diamonds."
"How did you know it's like my gun?" I asked.
"Everyone knows what gun you use, you bring it everywhere and keep it by your ankle. People just forget about that apparently." He said, observing me intensely with his piercing eyes. I took it out of the box and glared at it, my eyes widened. It was amazing, it was shiny and brand new.
"Holy..." Carlos said behind me, he was clearly as shocked as I was.
"Let's talk business. What do you need me to help with?" I asked.
"We need you to go on a few missions with us, help steal our weapons back and help protect our warehouse for the week. That's all really."
"And I get everything I want after?"
"Yeah."
"Seems easy. What's the catch?"
"There isn't one. You're helping us a lot so..." I leaned closer and our eyes locked together.
"Okay...Well...If I found out you've played me I'll be back with more than two people and three weapons and I'll kill every single one of your friends here. I don't care whether that's twenty people, thirty, forty or more. I'll kill them all with my bare hands and you know I will." I made my tone seductive but dangerous sounding and put bullets in the gun and toyed with it.
"Very well.." His pupils were dilated and his eyes were darker. Bingo, it worked.
"Bye Rio."
"I'll see you same time tomorrow." He coughed and I nodded, walking out with the boys.
"I can't believe you just threatened a Mafia leader! He has so much control over things!" Carlos said, completely shocked.
"Rule number one, never show your fear and let your confidence run wild." I smiled at them and took my weapons off them. "Let's go."
