"Sunset valley! Where everyone is happy! Bullshit!" I whisper.
"What are you complaining about now, Storm?"
I turn around. Cobra, my best friend was standing there, a bloody sword in one hand, a deer in the other
"Scare the crap out me, whydontcha!"
"Sorry." He apologizes.
Cobra is every girls dream guy. All of them swoon when he walks by and get boiling mad when they see me with him. Some of them ask me how to get him as a friend. All my answers come out the same way:
I be myself and we just really became friends
They are always dissapointed and just go back to swooning.
"Why do you stay in this city if you hate it so much?" He sat down next to me.
That was a very good question. That had me thinking. The only answer came to me was- "If I leave, where would I go and what would I do?" I looked at him, questioning.
If he had a better answer than that, I would love to hear it. "Well... You could sell the food that you catch."
"Stupid." I punch his arm, "You need to be a doctor to get everything."
"Like what?" He retorted.
"Food, clothes, utilities, even a house!"
"But, Storm, your amazing hunter, everyone loves you, especially Python."
Yeah, I knew that he really liked me. The thing is that we are best friends too. It would be akward if we did break up.
"You can draw and sing! And your.... beautiful."
I looked at Cobra. He smiled back at me. I blushed. I heard that pretty much anywhere I go. I was the girl that all the guys wanted. They wanted my black wavy hair, purple eyes, and my skinny body. They also wanted me because I was 20 years old. Cobra and Python were just a year older than me.
But, that beauty had to go away when I was 10. My dad took me out on my first hunting trip. He taught me how to use a sword, how to make traps, and how to defend myself. He left me by myself to go hunt. I walked for awhile, then I found my first target. 2 bear cubs play-fighting, in the open.
When I drew my sword, I thought. If I kill them, the the mom will come at try to find me, but if I follow them then I can get the 2 cubs and the mom.
I followed them home. A stupid mistake. The mom was not very happy with me. She fought for her cubs. I fought for food. I got nothing but scars. I screamed. Loud. It's a good thing though because my dad heard me. He got the mom and the cubs.
He rushed to me. "Storm! STORM! Don't worry! Everything is going to be okay!"
He pulled off his jacket and put it around me. He picked me up. I was limp in his arms. Then everything went black. For the next three days, I sat there. Looking out of one eye. They bandged the other eye. When I could leave the hospital, I was still weak. I couldn't do anything untill a week later. That was a really long week. After that they took the bandages off. I still had my eye, but it was really useless.
"Come on. We got to carry this deer back to the tribe."
"Kay."
We picked up the deer and walked into the deep woods....

ActionBeing orphaned at 11 isn't that bad. I mean, your mother dying at home, right in front of your eyes and your dad leaving you to go on a "supposed" hunting trip and never coming back. Yeah, that doesn't faze me at all. Also, being scarred at 10, naw...
