Marina's POV:

"Nothing Lucas, can you give me and Sicheng a minute please...alone." I said. Soon enough he got the point, smiling and walking back inside as he smirked to himself leaving me to face Sicheng. The both of us became super awkward as we looked at each other. "Did you mean what you said...to Taeyong?" He said as he scratched the back of his neck nervously. "I did...did you?" I asked, avoiding eye contact.

"I...I did Marina. I really do care about you." He said, looking at the ground. "I care about you too. More than I realized I did...as more than just a friend." I said in a shy tone. The both of us sat there in silence for a moment, trying to process the whole thing...we had feelings for each other, a feeling we didn't expect would ever happen between the two of us.

He began to walk forward, meeting me as he reached his hand out and tucked my hair behind my ear, looking me in the eyes, his sparkling in the dim light above us. "Sicheng-" I started to say before I was cut off with his soft lips pressed against mine, making my eyes slowly flutter and close. We continued to kiss, this time different than all of the time we had to kiss to put on a show, this one was meaningful and gentle and full of passion and sparks. A feeling a never thought possible, something I never would have found with Taeyong.

But something in me told me he wouldn't just give up so easily, him walking away like that was just too simple for him. After all, my dad would kill him if he came back without me, but I just decided to enjoy the present and kiss him even more, him dipping me to the ground as he smiled through the kisses. Soon enough, we separated, gasping for air as we stayed close. "Wow...that was...amazing." I said, blushing as I felt his hot breath on my lips while our foreheads pressed together.

"I can't believe that just happened." he smiled. "What's taking so long? Who's ready to party?" Lucas said, bursting outside and interrupting us once again. "Lucas!" We both yelled at the same time, making him throw his arms up innocently. We laughed it off and walked hand in hand back to the party, smiling at each other as we danced the night away, not caring about problems that we still had to deal with but wanting to let the stress go for just this one night.

"I love you guys!" Lucas yelled, throwing confetti in the air before kissing us both on the cheek and running off. "Lucas is actually a pretty cool guy." I laughed as he ran off. "Yeah, sometimes but damn he is annoying majority of the time." He laughed and we decided to make our way home, calling it a night. "I had fun." I smiled to myself as we walked down the street side by side. "Really?" He said, seemingly wanting to bring up something else.

I nodded and things became silent as we neared his house when suddenly he blurted out what had been on his mind. "Will you go out with me?" He said, becoming shy when he realized he had said it out loud. "I would love to go out with you." I smiled and pecked his cheek while he sighed in relief and smiled brightly. The both of us made our way into his house, sneaking up through the window but I felt like someone was watching me the entire time but saw no one, shrugging it off and climbing into bed instead.

"Marina, you're going to sleep in your dress?" He said, making me realize I had completely forgotten about pajamas, I had my mind on other things. He turned around and changed as I did the same and the both of us crawled into bed, getting under the covers as the cold air blew in. "I'm going to close the window." I said, getting an uncomfortable feeling other than the freezing. I looked around, still seeing no one but I decided to close the curtains anyways. I crawled back into the cover beside Sicheng as he wrapped an arm around me.

"I can't believe I have a date with a mermaid." He said, laughing slightly. "Never thought I'd ever be able to say that." He continued. I laughed at his cuteness and cuddled closer to him. "And I never thought I'd have a date with a human so I guess we're even." I said. We laughed it off and cuddled ever so closer, almost becoming one. "Sicheng..." I said in a sleepy tone. "Hmm?" He said, closing his eyes gently.

"How come you fell for me?" I said, making him look at me. "I fell for you because you're so caring and funny and you literally saved my life, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you...and I have had more fun with you than with anyone else in my entire life." He said, making me smile to myself. "I feel the same way. You saved me from a horrible life I didn't want to live and have showed me a new way of life...plus you're really cute." I giggled.

He blushed and laughed, pushing me playfully. "We should get some rest, so I can take you on that date tomorrow." He said, making my heart explode inside but outside I remained casual. "Okay, goodnight Sichengie." I said, cuddling up to him and closing my eyes. "Goodnight Marina." He said lightly. Soon enough I slowly drifted off to sleep, the thought of someone following me or watching me still in the back of my mind.
