Marina's POV:

I looked up and saw Taeyong, my heart sinking instantly as Sicheng grabbed my arm protectively. "You're not taking her anywhere." He said, standing up, taking me with him to face Taeyong. "And who are you to say anything about my fiance, you can't have her. She's not even human." Taeyong said angrily, walking closer to us as I hid back from him. "Yah! She's my girlfriend, she loves me not you so back off." Sicheng said angrily, walking up to Taeyong as they now stood face to face.

Before I could even process what was going on, the two of them went at it, throwing fists and shoving each other, making me panic. I had no idea what to do in that moment so I rushed up to them, begging them to stop fighting but they continued anyways. "Leave him alone Taeyong!" I yelled, trying my best to push him away but instead he pushed Sicheng into the water, making him hit his head. I screamed as I tried desperately to get to him but I felt Taeyong hold me back.

I noticed that Sicheng wasn't coming back up so I panicked even more, knowing if I didn't make it to him in time, he wouldn't make it. "Yah! Lee Taeyong!" I heard a voice say from about ten feet away. I looked over to see my best friend Lula. My eyes widened as I saw her while Taeyong looked at her in confusion, wondering how she even found the both of us or why she was here all the sudden. I used that as my opportunity to elbow Taeyong in the stomach, sending him back and giving me enough time to escape and jump into the water.

I swam as fast as I could, grabbing Sicheng from the water and leading him back to the shore where I saw Taeyong and Lula arguing. "Sicheng..I'm not gonna let you die." I cried, bringing him onto the shore and sitting him down. Though I couldn't stand up due to my tail, I managed to get my hands on his chest and began pumping and giving him mouth to mouth, crying for him to be okay.

Eventually I noticed water coming out of his mouth but he remained unconscious from hitting his head, making me frown. "See you're one of us Marina. Yet you save him." He said, making Lula confused as she walked towards me. "Marina, what's he talking about?" She said worriedly. "Tell her..about how you're in love with this human." Taeyong said angrily. "Is this true Marina?" Lula said. I nodded, holding onto Sicheng's hand as he laid unconscious.

"I fell for him and he loves me, I want to be with him..not Taeyong. I'm not going back Lula." I said, looking at the two of them staring at me. "Why are you here anyways?" I asked. "Your father sent me." She said, making me angry. "I'm not going back-" I started to say before she cut me off. "He says you are no longer his daughter and for you to never come back.. which means, Taeyong, you have no right to claim her." She said, smacking him in the arm.

He was left speechless for a moment before he stormed off. "Have fun with your human Marina, it won't last. Hope it was worth it." He said before jumping into the ocean and disappearing. "Is it really worth it? We could just leave right now and go back home-" she started to say before I spoke. "No, I'm not leaving him. I love him. He's different, humans are not like we always thought." I said, turning to him as I realized he was slowly waking back up.

"Sicheng, are you alright?" I said as I scooted closer to him. "I'm alright..you saved me once again." He said as he sat up, wincing at the pain. "Are you okay-" he started to continue before I brought him closer, kissing him lightly, making Lula cough awkwardly. "Oh, this is my best friend Lula. She came here to tell me that apparently my dad doesn't want me to come back..he said to stay here so Taeyong left." I explained. "Marina..but isn't that a bad thing..sure Taeyong is gone but now you can never go back to your family..are you sure this is all worth it? I love you but I don't want you to lose everyone else." He said sadly, holding my hand.

"Sicheng you're worth it to me. I'm in love with you. You saved me too." I said, hugging him. "I'll always take care of you." He said, leaning forward. "Um..I'm still here." Lula said, making us look at her. "Oh..sorry." I said before taking a seat next to Sicheng. "I've decided that if this place is so nice and makes my best friend happy..I am going to stay too." She said suddenly, shocking me. "Wait what?" I said, confused. "I can't just leave my best friend here can I?" She smiled.

I smiled as Sicheng grabbed my hand, smiling back at me. "You know, I think I might know the perfect guy for you." I said, making Sicheng laugh as he knew exactly who I was talking about, the ever so desperate Lucas. "Alright now let's get off this beach." Sicheng said, taking my hand. "Actually, you guys should get back, I'll catch up with you later Marina, I'll be around." She smiled before walking off. "Come on, we need to clean up your face." I said, grabbing his hand and heading back to his house, feeling a weight lifted off my heart.
