Debby and Lucas started planning the escape over a cup of coffee. Debby started drawing a map of her house to see from where she should sneak out in order to go unnoticed. Her parents go to bed very early but wake up with the slightest noise. She had to be quiet yet fast enough to get out and leave her house forever.
After a solid three hours planning they finally came up with a plan. They were going to run away on the 25th, three weeks from that day so Lucas had the time to book the plane tickets and everything else. After their planning session, Lucas took Debby to his small apartment. They started talking about life without each other and sharing their experiences. Then Lucas' phone rang. When he saw who was calling, his smile turned into a frown. He answered it immediately and started arguing with the person on the other side of the phone. Lucas was clearly frustrated with what the other person was saying. Debby wanted to help him but she didn't know what was going on. Then Lucas hung up and sat back down. He looked angry so Debby didn't ask him what was wrong. She knew better than that. But Lucas noticed that she was curious so he told her the truth. It turned out that Lucas inherited the house but with it, he had inherited his father's gang. He had to be the leader or they would destroy the house. Debby was shocked. She never thought that Lucas was a criminal.
Lucas knew that he had risked their life together when he told Debby about the gang. But she was going to find out eventually. Lucas knew that Debby never expected him to become a criminal but he would do anything to spend his life with her. Lucas began apologizing for not telling her but Debby cut him off. She intertwined her fingers with his and told him that even though he would soon become a criminal the plan wasn't off. She was still going to move in with him. She too would have done anything to spend the rest of her life with him.
The day started rolling closer and closer. Lucas had booked the plane tickets and had packed everything they were going to need. He had even started transporting some of the items into the house. So they were definitely on board of leaving the city and moving in together. Basically, starting a new life together.
It was the day of the escape. As planned, Debby's parents went to sleep at nine. Lucas would pick her up in his motorcycle at half past nine. Debby was ready at quarter past nine. She waited eagerly for her escape. Twenty minutes past nine. Twenty five minutes past nine. Twenty seven minutes past nine. Debby looked out of the window hoping to see Lucas' motorcycle. Twenty eight minutes past nine. Twenty nine minutes past nine. Half past nine. And Lucas' motorcycle was nowhere to be seen. At thirty five minutes past nine, Debby decided to text him and see what had happened. She waited for a reply which she didn't get. As ten o'clock rolled by, Debby knew that the plan was off. Something bad had happened...
