^^Im drooling

"Honey? May I speak with you for a moment?" Dad was standing at the bottom of the steps. I guess he and Miya just got home from work. After Jonah dropped me off at home, I got a shower and did my homework.

"Yea? What's up?" I didn't see Miya anywhere. That's weird.

"Uh, wheres Miya," I asked.

"That's what I want to talk about Vye."

I followed him hesitantly into the sitting room.

"Is she okay? Oh no, something happened. What's wrong Dad?!" I was nervous. He can't lose Miya too.

"No, no honey, Miya is fine, at least physically" His voice was calm, but his eyes were tired and strained.

"Well, what's wrong then? Why did you need to talk to me?"

"Hmm, I've never been good with this confronting stuff, but I might as well cut to the chase. Do you like Miya?"

"Wha- of course, I do! She changed your life dad. For the better. I could never thank her enough for getting you through THAT time." I said every single word with true honesty. Of course, I knew why dad was asking me. I'm not mad at Miya about yesterday. The past years, I've learned to move on quickly, especially after the fiasco with Jayden. Ugh. I don't even want to think about him.

"Sweets, are you sure you're okay with me marrying Miya in next September? We can wait a bit longer-"

"No Dad, don't wait! I am extremely happy for you guys and I wish the wedding was sooner!"

He sighed. He knew me better. I put on this mask. Truthfully, I was happy for them and very excited for their wedding, but I don't want Dad to think Miya will ever replace Mom.

"Look, Vye, I'm not gonna force you to accept Miya as your new mom. You don't have to call her 'mom' unless you're completely and utterly comfortable with it. But, she is being registered as your guardian if anything ever happens to me. Gram and Gramps are getting too old to take care of you and you're Aunt lives too far away. If she asks you for a favor or warns you about someone or something, you are to listen. Is that understood Ivy Claire?"

This was all too much information for me. I'm 18 for God's Sake! I don't need a guardian!? Yet, I'm not gonna disappoint my Dad. He has sacrificed so much for me and I hate whenever I see the look of disapproval on his face whenever I do something bad.

"Yes, I understand Dad" I mumbled quietly. His dark grey eyes shone proudly at me. He hugged me tightly, in a fatherly way.

"Thank you, Vye, I really do love you sweetie and I want you to understand that."

"Love you too Dad."
