Chapter onebeep beep...
the annoying sound filled the male's ears. those eyelids of his were way too heavy to raise, but he could hear his surroundings very well. his body seemed to be above something very soft and comfortable. the boy didn't think too much about it, instead, he appreciated the softness.
then his ears seemed to process the next sound, it made his body make a quick movement; almost like a shock. click. it followed with quiet and loud voices that were rather familiar. in the end, the male decided to finally raise his eyelids. slowly at first but then his eyes went crazy big. the first thing he saw was one of his friends leaning across him.
"he's awake!"
his shiny teeth became visible as he loudly announced to everyone that he had woken up. a pack of excited humans wandered towards his bed with cheerful facial expressions. one of them spoke first: saying that he would get a doctor.
"doctor? why?"
their cheerful faces were instantly washed off by a worried expression. it made him slightly uneasy. his eyes later moved to side and side, observing the room he was in. an enormous window was beside his bed, making his eyelids lower because of the sharp light. the sun was confidentially shining above the city. that made him wonder what the time was, but he refrained to ask.
later, a few footsteps could be heard outside the room, followed with the same loud voice he heard before. the doctor must be here... but why am i in a hospital in the first place...?
"doctor, he seems to not remember why he's here..."
the tallest among them spoke up first, not moving his gaze towards the doctor. the one that came with the doctor seemed to be in shock, considering his wide eyes and mouth that was slightly ajar. the doctor later strolled up to him.
"hello there. i will ask you some simple questions if that's all right for you?"
the male with the white clothing seemed to be very careful with his words. but he just nodded in response.
"do you remember your name?"
what a silly question the boy thought for himself. why wouldn't he remember his own name that he had since birth?
"lee hoseok."
hoseok just shrugged after answering the man's ridiculous question. the thought about why he asked that never hit his mind. but hoseok noticed that the others were quite glad that he knew his name.
"do you remember these young men?"
Hoseok took a moment to stare at the five of them who were standing rather close to his bed.
"minhyuk, kihyun, jooheon, shownu and changkyun."
all the names left his mouth in almost one breath. there was no way that he could forget his best friends. some of them were so happy that they even gave each other high fives. strange...
"alright, the last questions: do you remember why you're here, and... do you remember anything from last year?"
those last questions hit hoseok hard. the male had absolutely no memories from last year stored in his brain. it caused him to let out small sounds, but they weren't proper words or sentences.
"i- i think i know why i'm here, and no... i don't remember anything..."
in the end, hoseok succeeded to spat out a sentence, but it was poorly said. the doctor moved his gaze towards the other boys and gave them a gloomy expression, which they returned.
"alright. a train crash right. you hit your head quite hard when they found you. so, the memories may come back soon, or, it'll take a long time before they're stored again."
the boy couldn't find any information from last year while digging in his brain. it made him frustrated that he couldn't remember anything. right after the thought of being badly injured in the head, his head started to throb painfully through his bandage. the doctor noticed it when hoseok let out a short screech that surprised everyone else on the plain room.
"we'll let you rest, for now, hoseok."
the man gestured for everyone to leave the room so the pain would decrease. they obeyed, and waved towards him and said their goodbyes, and that they were coming to visit again. then, hoseok was left alone in the medium-sized room. his gaze once again turned towards the window, seeing all the buildings that stood tall. the glass windows were almost a reflection of the sun. a few moments later, the boy fell into a deep slumber. not worrying about anything else.
meanwhile with the other boys.
"you guys can go to the car, i need to make a quick call,"
minkyuk spoke but the only one who cared was shownu. he just simply nodded and contined to walk among the others.
the blonde boy started to dig in his pocket, trying to find his phone. he dialled some numbers and put the phone against his ears, waiting for someone to answer.
"hello? hyungwon?"
"yes, minhyuk what is it? i'm kinda busy at the moment so make it quick."
"hyungwon. this is serious. hoseok was in an accident a week ago..."
the other line went quiet; only their breathing could be heard.
"i-is he okay?..."
hyungwon started to stutter and minhyuk noticed it very well. he knew that hyungwon wouldn't be happy with the news, but he had no choice but to tell the other male. he took a deep sigh and proceeded...
"he doesn't remember anything from last year, hyungwon..."
