4th of July shopping was okay. But I liked decorating better. The boys did a terrible job on the inside. It was SO cliche! The outside was more original. We painted the bottom of the pool with the american flag, and set up a huge tent by getting a big flag and connecting the four ends to poles. Then we spread red, white, and blue towels around the edges of the pool. After the paint dried, we filled the pool and tossed some beach balls in. We set up red white and blue twinkle lights around the tent and all over the house. Then we blew up some red white and blue striped ice cream cones and stationed them all over the yard. It looked so cool! But something was missing. I had an idea and told the girls, and they all agreed. We were having a personal fireworks show, and we spread out six blankets next to the edge of the lawn, one for each couple. It looked awesome! I am so excited!
~'Lil cutesy time skip~
The party has started! It was gonna last twelve hours, from noon to midnight, when we were having the fireworks show. All the girls were wearing what Natalie had picked out for them. None of the boys were allowed to see the dresses, or anything for that matter, until the party. Natalie had organized a little fashion-show type thing where all the boys had to sit outside and the girls would walk out the door one-by-one. We went in the order that Natalie had choosen: Nat, Reagan, Madison, Nellie, Sinead, Me. When I walked out the door, I actually saw Ian's jaw drop. I walked over to him and pulled him up, then went over and started the party music playlist. The first song that came on was 'Who Says' By Selena Gomez and The Scene. It was like, MY song, so of course I made Ian come dance with me. The other girls followed my example and dragged their boyfriends over to the dance floor. After a couple songs, one of the boys suggested swimming, and everyone agreed. All the girls pulled their dresses of, since the swimsuits were under them.(Nellie took off her t-shirt and shorts) Soon we were lined up on the length of the pool and holding hands, I called out "Three, Two, ONE!" and we all jumped, creating the biggest splash and the biggest amount of chaos that there ever was. I don't know how, but before I knew it, the girls were on the opposite side of the pool as the boys and the boys were working on strategics for how to beat us at pool volleyball, but they weren't gonna beat us. We were all skilled at volleyball and we had discussed all the weak spots in their player layout. We were so gonna win this!
~Time skip to to after game because I'm rubbish with action scenes~
We won easy, but it was kinda close. They were better than expected. But we were just to good. They actually had a couple good plays, but they were SO cheating. Once, the ball was coming straight towards Nellie, and just when she was about to bump it, Jonah called out "I love you, Nellie!" Nellie froze and would've lost us the point, except Reagan, who was right next to Nellie, took one for the team and slightly exposed her ballet dreams by making a graceful leap through the water and spiking the ball down on Ian's face. Everyone laughed and Nellie, who had come out of her faze, stuck her tongue out at her boyfriend. Even the boys agreed: we had gotten the point. Hamilton and Dan made fun of Reagan after the game for the leap she had made, And Reagan ran over to one of the blow-up ice cream cones and started punching it to take her anger out. Then me, Madison, Sinead, and Natalie ran over and scolded the boys for being so mean. The day was fun, but it was nighttime that I favored. When the sun dipped low and the moon swam through the pool of stars making up the galaxy, everyone retired to the blankets. Reagan and Ted got a blue blanket, Madison and Ned got a red blanket, Nellie and Jonah got a yellow blanket, Sinead and Hamilton a purple blanket, Natalie and Dan a black blanket, And Ian nabbed the best: the green blanket. We all settled in and Natalie's dresses served a new purpose: they made us real cold, real fast, so all the girls had to snuggle with the guys. Dan and Natalie actually fell asleep, and we played a joke on them by wrapping them in their blanket in a complicated way so it would take them at least an hour to get out. Dan would probably give up, then Natalie would give up, and they would probably end up staying the night in the backyard. The fireworks. I don't even know where to start with the fireworks. They were BEAUTIFUL! All shapes and sizes and colors, and each one illuminated the whole backyard! All of us forgot everything for a moment: our tiredness, our injuries, the clue hunt, I even forgot Dan for a moment. All there was was me, Ian, the blanket, and the fireworks. Exactly the effect we were hoping for.
A/N Hi marshettes! I know, I know, 'Mallow how dare you end this chapter!' don't worry, I'll be doing this party in some different POVs, too. Just wanted to say: In this story, Evan and Jake never existed, and Pheonix hastily left after the truth or dare game because he did not want to be involved in a dating environment, since he had a girlfriend back home (he's the only one that does) Anyway, that's all for now. I'm almost at 1000 words on this chapter. WOW!
Lots of love,
The Mallow.
