I got to sign Amy's cast second. Of course, Ian was first. I signed Dan's cast last. Ian had dislocated his jaw. He was given some pain killers and had to eat liquid or soft food. The doctors let him talk, but insisted that he take a special machine with him that would talk for him and he had to use it if his jaw started getting sore. He grudgingly agreed. Amy and Dan got of with just a cast, and an order to take it easy for a few weeks. Also, Amy had to use crutches. Now we where back at the mansion. I was in the room that me and Amy shared. Just to the right of us was Reagan and Madison, and to the left was Hamilton and Ian. To Reagan and Madison's right was Dan and Jonah, and to the left of Hamilton and Ian was Nellie and Natalie. Each room had its own bathroom. I helped Amy get the hang of her crutches, and she was getting good at just going around the room. Once I was sure she could walk on flat surfaces by herself, I brought her to the stairs, and started coaching her. "Okay. I'm gonna take your crutches, and your gonna put your arm around my shoulders so I can help you down the stairs." I explained quickly."'Kay." She responded. I carefully took the crutches from her hands. I put them in my left hand, since Amy was on my right. She put her arm over my shoulder and I helped her down the stairs. Her right hand was on the handrail, and when she made it to the bottom she steadied herself on the wall. "That was great, Amy! Good job!" I exclaimed. "Thanks." She whispered. Only then did I realize her face and neck were beaded with sweat. "Oh god, Amy, I'm sorry. But seriously, you should keep trying this until you get the hang of it. Do you wanna try going back up so you can lay down?" "I don't think that's a good idea." Ian said, walking over from the kitchen. Then he easily picked up Amy, bridal-style and carried her to our room. He carefully laid her down on the bed. "Rest." He ordered. "Don't need to tell me twice." She whispered and closed her eyes. "Thank you." He said, now addressing me. "For what?" I questioned his statement. "For helping Amy get the hang of things. I've never gotten seriously hurt before, so I have no idea how to handle it and no idea of what to do, and you obviously have. Thanks." He explained. "Oh. Um, you're welcome?" I said, but it sounded more like a question. Then Hamilton's loud voice called for me down stairs. I excused myself and left the room. I slid down the handrail and into Hammy's waiting arms at the bottom of the stairs. I leaned up as far as I could and pecked him on the cheek. "'Sup?" I asked simply. "We're having a football game with just Starlings and Holts, Girls versus Boys. Are you in?" "Do you really have to ask?" "Ha-ha. Come on, let's go." I grabbed his hand and ran out on the deck instead of the front door. The terrain sloped down in the side yards, so the first floor deck was a story above the backyard, where the game was being played. I led Hammy to the end of the deck. I let go of his hand, remembering the gymnastics I had done as a kid. I swung up on the railing like a beam, and ran some quick calculations. Then I jumped, did a flip, and landed on my feet. My calculations were correct and my feet and ankles remained completely undamaged. I heard Hammy gasp when I was in the air, and let out a big breath when I landed unharmed. "Don't try this at home, boys and girls. Or anywhere for that matter." Ted said. I stuck my tongue out at him, and Hammy (He came down the stairs) pushed it back in with his tongue and kissed me. Madison cleared her throat. I reluctantly pulled away from Hammy and joined my team, while he joined his. Me and the Holt sisters talked strategy while the boys struggled not to strangle each other. One advantage of having a family that talks, is you know everyone's weaknesses and strengths. "Ted has a really weak left, so don't even try to cover everyone when he's gonna try to throw it with that hand, and Ned can't catch something moving faster than 30 miles an hour to save his life." Informed them quickly. I was decent at sports. Madison filled me in on the rules and how to play football while Reagan threw taunts and insults at the boys team. This was gonna be fun.
