Nico x Guard!Reader: Sleep [1]

Nico was watching the ceiling as the moon shined in through his cell. After another failed attempt at escaping, Uno, Rock, and Jyugo had fallen asleep. Yet, Nico couldnt. His heart pumped quickly and his eyes stung when they closed, it was like he was supposed to be still trying to escape, even if that ended an hour ago.

He hears soft footsteps approach; the gentle step of kitten heels tells him who is approaching. Ms. (F/n), his favorite guard. Her flashlight turned off, and he heard her cuss before she walks up to the cell door.

"Twenty-five, are you still awake?" She whispered.

"How'd you know?"

"Normally, you snore like a pig, this hallway being quiet is almost nerve-wracking." She chuckles lightly.

"Really?"

"Yeah," she smiled softly at him through the slot, "you need to sleep, maybe you should walk my round with me before you try again."

Nico hummed. "That sounds nice."

"Good, I could use the company anyway," she says as she opens the door a crack. "Now come on, before your cellmates wake up."

Nico rushes out and she locks the door again before they start walking again, down the hallway. "Aren't you going to put cuffs on me?" He looks at her quizzically.

"No, I trust you, Nico."

He smiles at her, and she turns bright pink in response. They weave through the hallways until they did a complete circle.

"You're really a good kid," she eventually breaks the silence.

"You think so!" He says, his eyes shining a bit.

"Yeah," she whispers, "I really do." She covers her yawn with the tips of her fingers. "Do you think you can sleep now?" She opens the door for him to go in.

Nico yawns and nods. "Thank you, Ms. (F/n)."

Anything for you my sweet green haired angel.

Nico turns to look at her. "Don't tell Hajime this, but you're my favorite."

"And why is that?" She asks.

"It's cause I love you." And with that, Nico crawls into his bed.

She closes the door and leans against it for a moment, her heart beating and all the blood in her cheeks. Now I don't think I'll be able to sleep.

[A/N] I actually fucking proof-read oh my god. And for some ungodly reason wattpad removed all the punctuation from this when I copied it from my Google Docs. I hope it doesn't do it for the next oneshot! (It's a Samon x Reader BTW)
