The smell of fresh pancakes crawls into Lili's room from the kitchen downstairs. She closes her book and bounces down the steps towards the smell of fluffy pancakes and syrup. Her mom greets her with a warm and comforting smile.
"Good morning hunny. How many pancakes would you like?" Lili's eyes were too busy staring at the fluffy pancakes to hear the question. "Wow mom. These look great!" Lili said instead of answering the question.
"Lili? Did you not hear me. I asked how many you wanted?"
"Oh I'm sorry, I'll take two. But can I take some for Camila today. I'm gonna go help her get ready before school."
"Okay. Just make sure your back for your biology lesson." Lili chowed down a few of the strawberry pancakes and packed a couple in a small plastic container. Lili usually went over to Camila's house to help her get ready, but mostly just to see her best friend. "Love you mom." Lili said waking out of the tall wooden door towards her blue convertable.
Lili got into her car and turned on one of her audio books. Lili doens't usually listen to music in her car, especially the new "hip" kind of music. She rolled down her windows since it wasn't quite warm enough to pull off the roof. Her book resumed from where she had left off from and she backed out of the drive way. On her way she stopped at Starbucks to get a couple things for her and Camila. For herself she ordered a caremel mocha frappachino and for Camila she ordered a pink drink with extra whip cream.
When Lili arrived she walked up to the pale blue door and rang the door bell. Camila showed up with knots in her curly blonde hair and still in her pajamas. Camila yawned and Lili said, "Good morning beautiful." Camila groaned and started for her room.
"Your picking out my outfit today Lili so get to work."
"Great, all of your clothes show more skin then they should, sure you don't wanna barrow any of my outfits?"
"I'm sure thanks Lily." Lili followed Camila to her room and walked into the mess of a closet. Everything was eiither laying on the floor not on a hanger or on a hanger but inside out. "Great" Lili mumbled to herself "This is going to be fun"
"When you leave for school I'm staying to clean out your closet." Lili remarked.
"Yea right, it's a mess."
"I got it, I think." Lili started rummaging through Camila's closet and made a comment on everything. "This shirt is too short" or "Wow this shirt is so colorful". Camila was too busy scrolling through Instagram aimlessly to care what Lili was saying. Lili decided on a red riverdale crop top and ripped jeans. Camila clicked off her phone and stared at the outfit.
"That's what I'm wearing? I never expected you pick that." Camila comented sounding suprised.
"Why because I'm not "cool". I just think the colors go good together that's all."
Lili helped Camila put on her outfit and walked downstairs to fetch the pancakes. On her way back upstairs she passed by the house cat, Kiki. Lili reached down to stroke her fur and Kiki let out a long 'purr'. Lili continued walking up the stairs and Camila yelled, "Do I smell strawberries?"
"You sure do! Along with pancakes."
At that call Camila came rushing out of her room searching for her pancakes. Lili handed the pancakes to Camila who was rushing for school. Lili knew to stay out of the way so she started for Camila's room. Camila quickly ate the pancakes and came rushing in to tell Lili she was leaving.
"I'm leaving L."
"Ok have a good day and remember to meet up at my house for the vacation plans!" Lili shouted as Camila hurried out the door. Lili planned to stay back and clean out Camil's closet. She had always been such a perfectionist, plus it wouldn't bother to be a good friend.
Rushing to get home for her first homeschooling lesson she organized the closet the best she could. When Lili was done She locked the front door and hopped back into her convertable. Lili resumed her audio book and cruised her way home. When Lili finally arrived home she was greeted by her tiny black pug, Luna. Luna jumped all over her and showered Lili with kisses.
"I missed you too baby girl." Lili said in between kisses. Her mom came down the stairs carrying books for all the lessons. "Almost ready L?"
"Yes let me go set my stuff down in my room. I'll be right down." Lili ran up to her bedroom and threw her coat and bag on top of her bed. Running down the stairs she realized she didn't notify her best friend Cole about the gorup meeting later at her house. She pulled out her phone and pulled up the screen that said 'messanger'. Quickly she texted Cole and told him about the meeting. She knew he was at school so he wouldn't text back for a while. Lili set down her phone and continued her way back towards her mom. Her mom was waiting for her all set up on the couch.
"Okay, I'm ready. What's the first lesson?" The first lesson would be biology. Math was Lili's strong subject, all the others she needed work on. She worte down formulas and worked with her mom for about three hours until they both got hungry. Lili got up to make pizza rolls while her mom used the bathroom.
Knowing she didn't have long until her friends were over with school Lili made extra pizza rolls to share when they showed up. Her mom announced that she would be done for the day since she had to go work. During the time she waited for her friends, she sat and read her new book, "What the Woods Hold Within".
