Chapter 5

JJ's POV

Reid and I are heading to talk to Maddie. When we get to the library Reid goes and pulls on a certain book and a door opens. Walking in I see Maddie working on work at a table.

It looked just like Reid's description. Reid said that she was working on the kidnapping case. We walked over and looked at her work. It's really impressive. Especially her profile. Her response when I asked how she has done this was really impressive.

"It not hard. I looked for the similarities between the women. All having blonde hair, blue eyes, being young, small, having kids, and being active. The unsub kidnaps them at night. Holds them for 4 days then kills them. Obvious signs of overkill. They are patient but angry. Takes them after work. No signs of sexual abuse so, it's not what drives them. All the victims have no criminal records but, they have been in the system at one point. The way the kills are points to a male unsub. They're sloppy, not organized, he's having a breakdown. Most likely going to try to get someone soon. He needs to have control in his life. With the victims being women with children, he's probably been in the system and mistreated or abused by a female or mother figure." She says to us.

Reid and I liked the way she spoke and talked. Knowing what she was talking about. When we were leaving she spoke and she surprised me. I don't know about Reid but, it did me.

"See how she has all of her things there. She sleeps there for goodness sake." Reid rants. "I know Reid but, until we have proof and evidence we can't do anything. Much to want we want to do." I tell him.

At the BAU building

We walk into the conference room and everyone is there. "How is she?" Morgan asks. "She claims to be fine. Like Reid said she has everything there. She's also very smart. We looked at her work on the open kidnapping case. It's perfect. She even came up with a profile that makes sense and fits." I tell the others.

We discuss other things before going out separate ways. I'm sitting in my office when I get a call.

Phone call

J- This is Agent Jareau how may I help you.
M- JJ please help me. I can't take it anymore. It's getting worse.
J- Maddie sweetie what happened. Are you safe or okay. (Getting the others attention)
M- No. please help. I'm scared.
J- What happened Maddie. Where are you I'll come get you.
M- It got worse JJ. It hurts. Nobody cares. Nobody knows.
J- Maddie I need you to tell me where you are. I can't help you if you don't tell me.
M- I'm at Giddings Park.
J- Maddie sweetie I'm coming to get you. No tell me are you in a safe place?
M- I don't feel safe anymore JJ. I'm scared all the time. Please.
J- I'm coming. Don't worry. Okay?
M- okay

End of phone call

In the middle of that call I rushed out of my office gaining the others attention. We are now rushing to the park to get to Maddie.

Trying to not think of the worst. The words she said. I'm afraid she's going to do something she's going to regret.

When we stopped, I rushed out. As soon as I did I saw Maddie running to me crying. Opening my arms he runs into them. I look a the rest of the team and see them concerned and worried.

Trying to calm her down took a while. Something must have happened big time. Picking her up I put her into the back seat and sit with her. After calming down she falls asleep.

Hotch and Rossi were in the SUV with me. "Something must have happened. She said she had to go somewhere when we were leaving the library." I tell them. "Would she have gone home?" I ask them.

They don't know why to say. We got to the building and we put her in Hotch's office on the couch.

Once the whole team gets here we talk. "I'm just going to throw it out there. What if she was sexually assaulted or raped. Her body language was off. I don't think she noticed herself but, she was flinching when a male went near her." Morgan said.

"He's right. We don't want to think it but, it's a possibility." Rossi said. In the middle of the conversation we hear a scream. Rushing into the office.

Maddie sees me and calms down again but, still cries until I'm with her. The others left so we could be alone.

"Maddie, I know you don't want to talk or relive this but, please tell me what happened." I ask her calmly. She looks up at He with tears in her eyes.

" I went home. My mother and father was home and my father had some of his friends over. My parents let them take me upstairs. T-t-they held m-m-me down on my b-bed. Undressed me. I couldn't do anything. I tried. I tried so hard but, there were five of them. Then they made me do things. JJ it hurt. It hurt so bad. T-t-then they put handcuffs and a blindfold on me and continued. It lasted hours JJ." She said to me. It broke my heart.

"Maddie will you be willing to do a rape test. We might be able to get these guys or at least your parents." I tell her. "I'll do it but, it won't do any good. I heard wrappers. I think that they had condoms." She tells me.

"Let's just get you the test done and we'll figure it out when we get there. Sounds good." I tell her while hugging her. "Why don't you try to go back to sleep." I suggest.

"I don't want to. You'll leave." She says to me. After saying that she climbs onto my lap resting her face on my shoulder. She's asleep in no time. I decide that I don't want to leave her so I pick her up and carry her out with me.

Morgan sees me and makes a face. This catches the attention of the others. "She didn't want to be left alone. She told me what happened. When she wakes up we have to take her to the hospital for a rape test." I inform them.

They look at her with sadness. How can someone so small be raped. "She's never going back to that house every again. Her parents allowed it to happen. The way she said it was that they forced it I happen." I continue.

"We'll make sure of it. I want you and Reid to take her to get the test. She seems comfortable with you two." Hotch said. We both nod. Maddie starts to move around so I sit.

She starts to wake up again and has a mini panic attack when she noticed that she was getting stared at. "Maddie. JJ and I are going to take you to the hospital ok." Reid tells her in a soft voice. She nods sit very tired.

At hospital

"Maddie can you please follow me." The nurse says to her. She looks at me afraid. The nurse notices and let's me follow them as well.

(Skipping all of the medical stuff cuz I'm lazy)
At home

Hotch let me take Maddie home with me because she was the most comfortable with me. "Maddie. D you wan to sleep in the guest bedroom by yourself or do you want me to sleep with you?" "With me please." She responds in a soft and quiet voice.

Getting ready for bed. We both fall asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.
