saleb one-shots

first kiss

(if you're expecting fluff, don't. also, this absolutely sucks and I don't remember writing it)

the minute caleb heard squealing from his sisters room, he knew that sydney had definitely enjoyed her first date. before she left, she went over to the leblancs house so annie could help her get ready, so of course luke came along to hang out with caleb. she ended up coming back after the date to stay over and caleb was less than thrilled. he absolutely did not want to hear all about how great this mason guy was.

and there was maybe a chance that he was angry he lost his chance to be her first date.
in fact, the minute luke arrived, he lectured caleb about it.
"why'd you have to wait so long?" he groaned, sitting on calebs bed.
"hello to you too," caleb smiled.
"caleb im serious. you waited too long to ask her out and now she's going out with some other guy!" he shook his head.
"yes, I know. im an idiot."
"yes you are."
"hey!"

when she returned, she ran straight to annies room where they clearly talked all about the date.
eventually, when sydney went back down stairs to tell her mom how it went, annie headed to caleb's room.
the minute he opened the door she gave caleb some pretty bad news.
"so they kissed." she sighed, slowly pacing and avoiding calebs gaze.
his eyes widened and luke nearly screamed "what?".
"i know, i know. apparently he's the one who initiated it." she looked up to caleb and could see that he was not near as calm as he seemed. "caleb, you lost your chance."
"yeah, clearly." he put his head in his hands. "what am I supposed to do now?"
"i guess you'll have to wait even longer." luke frowned.
luke and annie were both very much "saleb shippers" and this was not going as they hoped.
calebs stomach hurt. he had wanted to be sydneys first kiss. maybe it was stupid, but he always kind of hoped she was waiting on him the way he was waiting on her. he knew that he was waiting too long to "make a move" but it was hard not knowing how she'd react. also, he'd been trying his best to flirt with her but unfortunately, she's used to it because he's been doing it for so long.

"that's okay. I can wait." he smiled sadly.

and then sydney walked in to grab annie. she locked
eyes with caleb and his heart hurt.

he didn't know, but hers did too.
