I stood there in the horrible sight that my mom the one who raised me to be a loving soul, is there in a pool of beer drunk and angry. I didn't know if I should get help or run away. I decided to run.
I ran faster than my legs could carry me until my legs had sharp pains an my feet had blisters. I sat on the curb and I thought about mom and me. What will happen to her? what will happen to me? if I run away where would I live? who would take care of me? should I go back? I felt warm tears drip from my cheeks as I heard the sound of brakes stop in front of me. Officer Jones jumped out of the car and ran over to me. he sat down beside me and asked what was wrong. I told him that my mom was on meth and she was drunk and I ran away because I was to afraid to stay with someone who could hurt me. He nodded showing he understood. He told me about how meth destroyed his family and he had to get adopted. a cold chill went down my spine when I thought of being with another family.
" Listen son, I know it hurts... really bad, but you have to go back until we get paper saying you want to leave home and be adopted." he said that he would drive me home and I would have to tell her. I got in his car and he drove me to the horror house that broke my family apart. I walked in the house with Officer Jones by my side. Mom was laying there on the couch drinking more liquor. I look at the trash can and it's full of empty beer cans and bottles. I walk over to tell her I'm tired of it all and that I'm going to go get adopted. She began to stand up with an angry look..
"You little...LIAR! she swung to hit me again. Officer Jones stopped her.
" Mam you are under arrest for abusing your child!" screamed Officer Jones when he realized how bad it was. he put her in hand cuffs and brought her to the car. I got up front because I knew he didn't want me in that house any longer.
As we were driving I asked him where he was taking me. he said that he was going to take me to his house and I will stay there with Mrs.Jones until we find out what to do. He dropped me off first because he didn't want my mom to have any chance of getting to me.
We slowly pulled up to a yellow house with a white porch. A tall lady with long blonde hair stood on the porch. The car slowly came to a stop in the surprisingly short drive way. I got out of the car with Officer Jones and he walked me to the porch. He introduced me to his wife and she brought me inside. we sat down at the kitchen table and she talked about her little boy. His name is john and he is 3 years older than me. He went to Denver middle school. I hoped she kept talking about her son or something because I don't want to talk about my so call mom. I thought that moms were supposed to love and care for their child, but my mom doesn't. Mrs.Jones loves John. why doesn't my mom love me?
