Chapter 18

I haven't heard from Harper in a few days. I felt like a piece of myself was missing, I didn't feel right. I wasn't happy.  I was scrolling on Facebook when I happen to come across Harper being tagged in another post from this April woman. The original post wasn't important but the comments is what intrigued me.
April Connors: I'll see you at The Lion tonight xx
Harper Grayson: See you there babe x
That's what caught my attention. I walked to the kitchen.
"Hey Kate, want to go to dinner with me tonight?" I asked
"Um sure, where at?" She asked
"The Lion hotel" I replied
"Yeah sure, what time?" She asked
"Uhh.... Let's say 6" I replied
I immediately scurried through my clothes to try to find something decent to wear. I settled with my black jeans with black shoes along with a black button up and a black jacket. Going for an all black look. I looked slick.
On the drive there, Kate questioned me.
"So, why the Lion in particular?" She asked
"Well Harper's there... With another chick and I want to see her" I replied
"I knew you didn't want to have dinner with me just for the sake of our friendship" She laughed
"I'll shout you a drink" I smiled.

We arrived, the car park was too big so I couldn't spot Harper's car. Kate and I walked into the pub.
"Table for two please" I stated, the young boy directed us to a table. I scanned the room to see if I could see Harper. I sat down with Kate.
"Do you see her anywhere?" I asked
"Nah not yet" She replied
"I'll get us drinks" I stated as I got up and walked to the bar.
"Hey, can I please grab two Canadian Clubs, dry please" I spoke to the bartender. I felt someone bump into me.
"Oh excuse me" The lady spoke, I looked at her. It was April. She wouldn't recognise me... Unless Harper has mentioned me.
"You're all good" I smiled as she stood next to me, waiting to get drinks. I became nervous, knowing Harper was here and probably watching me this second.
"Sorry, do I know you?" She asked me, she was British? I wasn't expecting that and she was a lot hotter than her photos.
"Uh I don't think so? Where you from?" I replied
"Not from around here, your face just looks..." She spoke
"Kaede" Harper spoke, I turned around. I took her in. She was wearing a tight black dress with heels, along with her glasses. I clenched my jaw at just how beautiful she looked. I was jealous I wasn't on a date with her. I guess I missed out.
"Miss Grayson" I smiled, trying to not let her intimidate me.
"What are you doing here?" She asked
"I'm out with Kate. What are you doing here?" I asked, acting dumb. She pointed at April. I turned to her.
"This is April, April this is Kaede. An old student of mine" Harper stated
"Her favourite student" I smirked as I shook April's hand.
"Maybe that's how I know you... I think I've seen you on Harper's Facebook" She replied
"Possibly..." I mumbled as I grabbed my drinks.
"Why don't you join us?" April asked
"No... I don't think Kaede would like to have dinner with her old lecturer" Harper spoke, it was clear she didn't want me to join.
"Yeah, uh that's okay. My friend is going through something anyway... So I should be there for her" I lied as I looked at Harper, she looked sad, almost? I wasn't sure what was going through her mind.
"It was nice meeting you April" I stated as I winked at her and walked off.
"Who's the red head?" Kate asked as I got back to the table.
"That is April. She wasn't anything like I expected. She actually seems really nice and genuine. She's also very gorgeous, obviously..." I replied as I looked back at them both at the bar. Harper's eyes locked with mine for a moment before she turned.
"She's British" I added
"Wow, she's literally like my dream girl..." Kate stated
"Thanks Kate, very supportive! Haha, you should be saying, no Kaede, she's not as good as you, you're way better for Harper" I joked
"Ofcourse you're better for Harper... So once you guys are back on, get Harper to introduce me to April because damn..." She replied, I couldn't help but smile.
Half way through our dinner I went to the bathroom. I stepped out of the toilet stall where Harper was leaning against the wall. She spooked me, I wasn't expecting her to be there!
"Jesus, stalk much..." I spoke
"Bullshit. You knew I was coming here tonight didn't you?" She stated
"What? That's insane... How? Kate literally suggest coming here herself, ask her if you don't believe me..." I stated, she furrowed her brows, studied me up and down.
"What's with the dark colours?" She asked
"Thought it suited my soul" I replied
"Accurate I suppose" She replied
"April seems great" I changed the subject
"Yeah... She is" She replied
"Kate has an eye for her, she thinks she's her dream girl, especially after I told her that April's British" I replied
"Yeah... She's amazing" Harper stated
"Where'd you meet her?" I asked
"A long time ago, at Uni" She replied
"Oh wow" I mumbled as I grabbed the paper towel that was beside Harper to wipe my hands.
"So why'd you follow me in here? Must've been a reason" I stated
"Just wanted to see why you happen to be here the same time as me... The same time I happen to be having a date" She replied
"Continue with your date, I'm not stopping you... You're stopping yourself from being in here talking to me haha" I stated as I went to walk out.
"I can't concentrate on her when you're here. I see you on the other end of the restraunt and... I just, I can't have you always popping up like this" She stated, I turned around.
"Maybe it's a sign, god obviously wants you near me" I spoke as I came close to her.
"I don't believe in god" She replied, we got close. Very close. The door then opened and I stepped back from Harper.
"You were in here for a while, I wanted to check to see if you were okay but I see we have a little party going on" April stated
"Ran into each other again" I stated
"Sorry for holding up your date" I added as I walked past her.
"Oh my god Kaede, I was just at the bar getting another drink and I heard April's accent and I'm in love. Honestly, I'm in love" She stated
"You're an idiot haha" I laughed
"Seriously, you have to introduce me!" She spoke
"I can't! Besides Harper seems pretty keen on her..." I replied
"Oh really?" She replied, saddened.
"Yeah... Sucks but ah well" I replied.
As were were sipping the last of our drinks. April and Harper walked over to our table.
"Hi again" April stated
"Hey" I spoke, Kate smiled awkwardly. She was so funny when it came to girls.
"Kate, this is April and you remember Miss Grayson right?" I spoke as I grinned at Harper. April shook Kate's hand.
"Nice to meet you" April stated
"Look, we just came over here to invite you back to Harper's for a drink if you both are interested?" She asked
"Uhhh" I looked at Harper for approval who was looking anywhere but me. I wasn't sure.
"Sure! Would love to!" Kate stated. No! Kate!
"Great! You can follow us there if you like" April stated, Kate nodded at she stood from her seat and followed April outside. Harper and I were still at the table.
"She suggested it, not me" Harper stated
"Does she not know who I am or anything about us?" I stated
"No, she doesn't" Harper replied
"Great... Also, you have some competition with Kate, watch out" I winked as I walked outside.
Kate and I followed April back to Harper's. Even though I already knew where she lived, I had to play dumb.
"Wow, this is Harper's house!" Kate spoke as we pulled up, I nod.
"Holy shit" She added.
We got out the car and walked inside.
"Hey Pud!" I spoke as I gave him pats. I then realised I probably shouldn't act like I know him so well.
"He's so cute Harper, I've seen heaps of photos of him" I acted dumb
"Yeah he's my baby" She replied, she seemed impressed with my quick save.
April and Kate were in the kitchen. Harper and I sat on the couch. I noticed a duffle bag on the floor.
"Who's bag?" I asked
"Oh that's mine, I've been staying here for the last couple of days. Thought I'd call in before I heard to Canberra" April stated
"You're leaving?" Kate asked
"Yeah tomorrow sadly, I'll be back within a month though" April replied, Kate seemed disappointed.
"Harper's been very nice to let me stay here in her lovely home" April spoke as she put her hand on Harper's leg. I grew irritated.
"April, can I ask you something?" I asked, Harper looked nervous.
"Yeah sure" She replied
"Are you gay?" I asked, she seemed unsure of my question.
"It's just because I am, Kate is, I assume Harper is. I was just wondering if you were" I spoke
"Yes I am, I suppose I don't necessarily give off the vibe do I haha?" She replied
"I mean, you're very beautiful and a femme, you don't see much of them around anymore" Kate stated, flirting a tad.
"Thankyou! You're gorgeous too!" April returned the compliment. Harper and I smiled at each other.
After some small talk, I went to the kitchen to fix up a drink. April joined me.
"Your friend seems very nice! She's becoming a peds doctor, that's amazing!" She spoke
"Yeah, she's extremely smart. I just wished she found a nice girl. She always gets fucked around" I replied
"Oh the poor sweetheart" She replied
"Your her type you know" I stated
"Oh?" She looked at me, intrigued.
"Well you're British for one, you're beautiful, femme and red head" I smiled
"Oh she's too sweet..." She replied
"So, you and Harper" I winked
"Just friends" She replied
"Really?" I asked
"No.... Hidden figures there?" I smirked
"Maybe a few but we've never been serious. Just a bit of fun" She stated. I became immediately pissed off knowing they've slept together over these past few days.
"She's a good friend though. I don't think we would be anything more than friends. We have different interests" She stated. I couldn't be mad at April though. She seemed genuine and very nice. I was more pissed at Harper. I know I shouldn't be but I was.
"Well, if you're ever looking for a change up, hit up my girl... She needs someone like you in her life" I spoke as I looked at Kate.
"I just might take you up on that offer one day Kaede" She smiled as she walked back to them. I smiled as I followed her back. I sat next to Kate and whispered in her ear.
"You're in"
She looked at me confused.
"I'll tell you after" I replied. I looked at April who was close to Harper. Images were popping into my head, ones that I wish to never see.
"Where's your bathroom Harper?" I asked
"Uh, I'll show you" She replied as she walked with me.
We walked down the corridor and towards her bathroom.

It was getting late.

"I might head to bed... Where do I sleep?" I asked
"There's a couch upstairs. I'll show you to it" Harper stated
"You can sleep on this couch if you like Kate, blankets are in the basket. I might head off to bed as well" Harper stated
"I'll stay down here with Kate for a bit. I'm not tired just yet" April replied. Kate definitely seemed happy about that. Harper and I walked upstairs. I followed behind, trying not to get distracted by her ass.
"You're familiar with this couch right?" Harper smirked
"Yeah, it looked better when you were screaming on it though" I replied, she pursed her lips and raised her eyebrows. She handed me a blanket and pillow before walking into her room. I took off my jacket, shoes and shirt. Just left my pants and Calvin Klein bra on. I was getting comfy when I looked into Harper's room. She left the door open half way. I could see her taking her dress off. I didn't want to look, I know she's doing this purposely. I could see her bare back and her ass in a black g-string. Fuck me.
"You should shut your door" I shouted out. She ignored me. I got up and walked towards her bedroom door. She heard my footsteps and bet me to her door. She was wearing her sexy black lacy dressing gown. She held the door open as I was trying to pull it closed.

"Wow Miss Grayson have you been working out?" I smirked
She kissed my neck and then bit it. I wasn't expecting it.
"Oh so sorry, did I hurt you?" She spoke sarcastically. Oh so that's how it's going to be.
"Didn't hurt at all, you're weak" I replied. She gripped my hands harder and bit my neck again and sucked hard.
"Oi! You're going to give me a hickey!" I stated
"Oops" She smirked. I bumped her up with my knees and flipped us. She just smiled at me. Like she was proud of herself.
"I'm sure April would love to know how this got on you" I stated as I left a huge hickey on her collarbone.
"Haha you bitch" She smiled. I gripped her throat as I slid my other hand down to her dressing gown and untied it. She bit her lip. Her breathing picked up. I hovered my hand around her lower stomach. Barely touching her. She moved her hips up so my hand would touch her. I gripped her throat harder. She let out a soft moan.

I threw myself back on the couch and fell asleep.
