The stars
I stare at them in wonder,
In awe.
So beautiful,
And so
Dead.
Gone.
The stars are so far away
Not only in distance,
In time, my worst enemy,
It keeps me from them
From you.
They're so far away
That they're dead.
Imploded
Destroyed
Gone.
And we don't even realize it.
We go on gazing.
Putting our hope in the stars.
From here,
Trillions and trillions of years away,
On this fragile,
Minuscule,
Unimportant planet
We make wishes to them.
And it's all for nothing.
False hopes and fool's dreams.
And now,
My stupid heart
Finally
Realizes it.
The stars
Are not the only thing
Dead.
Gone.
