Linda sat in a doorway, with (Y/N) and Blu perched on her bent knees. She rubbed their heads and sighed. "I promised I would look after you two, didn't I?" (Y/N) looked down and Blu looked to the side. "And have I ever broken a promise?"
Linda smiled slightly, "I'm scared too, but I wouldn't make you two do this if it wasn't the right thing to do." (Y/N) looked at her, a look in her eyes showing Linda that she understood. Linda smiled and rubbed (Y/N)'s head, then held her fist out for Blu. "Well, what'd ya say, Blu?"
Blu hesitated, before giving in and doing their special handshake. "That's my big brave boy" Linda said. "And besides, we'll be back before you two know it." Linda stood up and walked to put the two birds in their travel cage.

(Y/N) stared in awe at the sights, spotting a flock of birds flying high in the sky over the people bustling about.
"Isn't it beautiful Blu? The sights, the smells, the people! Everything is so... amazing!" (Y/N) exclaimed, her eyes shining with wonder.
"Did you know Rio holds some of the most dangerous spiders in the WORLD?" (Don't hold me for that, I just added it for plot lmao) (Y/N) scoffed and whacked him over the head with her tiny wing. "OW! What was that for??" Blu complained.
"For being a buzz-kill. Just enjoy the music! The art! The air!" (Y/N) laughed.
"(Y/N)! Blu! You don't wanna get beak burn!" Linda called back as she put some SPF-3000 on their beaks. (Y/N) gagged and quickly wiped it away, while Blu just stared at it. Blu finally decided to look at the beautiful scenery of Rio. He quickly retracted from the outside, however, when a man wearing a purple mask came right up to the cage. The man then walked, er DANCED, away into a crowd of performers dancing and crossing the street.
(Y/N) stared at the performers curiously, sitting in between the metal bars of the cage. She looked up when she heard cheerful singing, matching the tunes the performers were making. She spotted a red-crested cardinal and a yellow canary singing their hearts out to the music filling the air on top of their cage. The two birds suddenly flew down to come face-to-face with the city birds. The yellow canary said something in a foreign language, and (Y/N) snorted as Blu scrambled for a translator book.
"Uh- I am not, from here." Blu said slowly as he made gestures with his wings.
"Wow, just when I thought you couldn't get anymore pathetic-"
"Well then YOU try talking to them" Blu pouted.
"I will." (Y/N) turned to them. "Please excuse my feather-brained brother. I'm (Y/N), as he said, and that is Blu."
The yellow canary tipped his soda-cap hat at her. "Nico, I assume you two are tourists?"
"It's that obvious?" (Y/N) snorted and Nico chuckled, sitting on the edge on the cage beside her.
"Not really, you two don't look like tourists." Nico shrugged.
"Uh, except blue bird over there has pigeon doo-doo on his nose." The red and white bird said in disgust. (Y/N) laughed at Blu's flustered face as he tried to wipe the sunscreen off, not noticing Nico staring at her with a lost look in his eyes and a faint blush upon his feathered cheeks. (IK THAT IT ISN'T LOGICAL TO SEE A BLUSH THROUGH FEATHERS BUT STFU ITS MY BOOK)
"I didn't catch your name, by the way." (Y/N) said as she looked at the red and white bird.
"The names Pedro, pretty mama" Pedro said, winking at the (color) canary. (IT AUTO-CORRECTED TO PEDO AND NOW IM CRYING JABUHCBSE)
"Uh- well nice to meet you two" (Y/N) said, a bit flustered at the flirtatious cardinal.
"So, are you two here for Carnival?" Nico asked.
"Actually, I'm here to meet-" Blu started but was cut off by (Y/N).
"A girl" She said, quirking an eyebrow at her already embarrassed brother.
"Oooo~ A girl" Nico said slyly.
"Man you gotta show confidence, y'know what I'm sayin? Gotta puff your chest, narrow your eyes, like some crazy love hawk." Pedro said. (Y/N) snorted.
"And then get slapped across the face. Don't try to kiss her as soon as you meet her, dummy" (Y/N) said, rolling her eyes.
"I don't like heeerrrr" Pedro whispered to Nico. Nico just rolled his eyes at his friend.
"But first, we gotta get ya outta this cage man!" Pedro said to Blu, and the two Minnesota birds started saying that that wouldn't be necessary.
"Imma pop this thing open like a soda can!" Pedro started rapidly slamming his body into the bars, eventually flying back again.
"You call that poppin?" Nico asked, an 'eyebrow' raised.
"Man, this thing won't bust!" Pedro complained
"Th-there's no need to get me out! Love the cage!" Blu said as he rubs lovingly against the cage's bars.
"Is he always like this?" Nico whispered to (Y/N) and (Y/N) chuckled.
"Yep, guess Rio and city birds don't go well together hm?" (Y/N) joked and Nico laughed.
"Well, we'll cya guys around, and remember, love hawk!"Pedro called as the two birds flew off.
(Y/N) turned around to smirk triumphantly at Blu. He looked at her puzzled until she started mocking him.
"Well then YOU try talking to them." She mocked as the car started moving again.
"Oh go choke on a cookie"
