"Beomgyu! Why don't we go swim in that lake together! It'll be fun, I promise!" Taehyun yelled out to his best friend, Beomgyu.
"I don't know, Taehyun. It doesn't seem that safe, and I'll get in trouble too." Beomgyu replied, shivering slightly at the cold touch of the water in the lake.
"Aw, come on! Loosen up a bit! We'll just be in there for 5 minutes! We'll be gone before we know it!" Taehyung yelled back, pressuring Beomgyu to jump into the lake.
"Well, I guess it doesn't sound THAT bad. Okay! I'll go with you." Beomgyu agreed, earning a cheer from Taehyun.
If only they knew what would happen next.
"Help! Beomgyu hit his head on the rock while we were trying to get out of the lake! He's fainted! Please! Someone help him!" Taehyung screamed out.
"What happened to that child? Don't worry, I'll call the ambulance as soon as possible." A man said, earning a timid thanks from Taehyun.
Beomgyu was rushed to the hospital and thankfully survived, but his memories of Taehyun didn't.
"Why in the world would you do that to my son?! Do you know how many problems you caused us?! You wanted to have fun?! What good would that be if my son was dead?!" Beomgyu's mother screamed, slapping Taehyun.
"I-I'm really sorry. I didn't know that would happen." Taehyun cried quietly.
"Get out of here now. I'm never letting Beomgyu anywhere near you again. Consider your friendship with him over." Beomgyu's mom responded coldly.
Taehyun went back home with his parents. He didn't complain about anything because he knew he didn't deserve to.
"Why would you pressure Beomgyu to do that? Now, you lost your best friend. Taehyun, go to your room and think about what you did. Don't come out until you've realized what you've done." Taehyun's mother ordered sternly.
"Yes, mother." Taehyung responded. With that, he went into his room and didn't come out until it was dinnertime.
Taehyun woke up. It was the same nightmare that haunted him in his dreams for 10 years now. He still can't seem to forget about what he did that day. Still couldn't let go of the past no matter how much he wanted to.
He sighed and went back to sleep. It was still 2:00 AM in the morning. He knew that he wouldn't get much sleep even if he tried, but it was worth a shot.
