After going over the plan to retrieve Alaïa's things from my uncle's pack with my dad, I gave my mate a quick hug and kiss on the forehead before going to meet up with the warriors that will be escorting both me and their new luna back to the place she was raised.
"You have no reason to be scared or worried darling, just remember.... no one will dare put a hand on you or insult you again while I have a say," my father said to my mate giving her shoulder a slight squeeze while her eyes slowly filled with tears of gratitude.
"Thank you so much alpha, I promise to be the best mate I can be to Valentina and make you all proud" Alaïa sniffled before giving dad's hand a final shake and walking out with Elody and Aurora. 1 more hour and we would be heading into orchid moon territory escorted by guards and an empty car that will hold all my mate's possesions and the gifts the alpha and beta couples have offered to her as some sort of apology.
Father says he knows they are showing remorse because Alaïa is to be luna of our pack, but had she been a lower-ranking wolf she would have gotten nothing.

As we made our way out of the safe and calming Jade moon pack's territory (much to Elody's dismay) I could feel my hands shaking and sweat running down my back as chills went up and down my spine. At least my Valentina is here holding my hand and softly humming as my head lay on her shoulder.
"Everything will be just fine little mate" she whispered in my ear about 15 minutes into the drive as I saw the familiar faces of two border patrol guards approaching us "Please state your business" one of the guards spoke directly to the male warrior sitting next to Valentina "WE are here to collect my mate's things, the alpha is expecting us," Valentina said in an annoyed tone while gently squeezing my hand to help calm my nerves.
The guard's eyes must have expanded to 3 times their usual size. "Oh, yes we were expecting you.... please, this way to the packhouse," The other warrior said pointing north clearly in a hurry as to not waste our time any longer. Wait, north? but I don't understand... we were just going to the orphanage to get my things weren't we, why would we go to the packhouse?
