We spent the rest of the day hanging out as teenagers. "So, how's a girl like you end up working as a police officer?" he asked munching on a french fry, I sighed, "my mother was a police officer...she died last year...cancer. It was hard last year...but several years before I decided to be an officer...I was raped by one of my ex's...well...it was more sexually, mentally and physically abuse. When mom found out...she put him in jail..." I told him eating on my burger, "so...you don't like men who are...' good guys' only 'bad boys?' " he made quotations with his fingers as he spoke, "it's more than just that...I've never met a guy who was a nice, kind guy and tries his damndest to protect me..." I told him as he nodded in understanding. "Or maybe I've met him and told him to fuck off...who knows..." I shrugged as he snorted, I sipped on my coke, "yeah no. I get it..." he spoke still eating on his fries. "I also want a man that isn't scared of the fact that they do something wrong to me then I'd throw their ass in jail...it's why I'm still single..." I told him as I propped my head up with my hand. He chuckled, "I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to date a beautiful policewoman such as yourself" he smiled as I giggled and blushed a little, "oh so she does laugh" he joked as I rolled my eyes, "I'm not cold-hearted once you get to know me...actually, I only act like that to keep up appearances...got a reputation to protect y'know" I shrugged as he paid for our dinner and we walked to his blue 1968 Mustang. He opened the door for me, "...you know...maybe you just haven't met the right man who respects you for who you truly are..." he whispered as I looked into his brown eyes, "maybe...who knows..." I smiled as I got into the car, he drove me home, "thank you..." I smiled at him.
"I'll see you at work tomorrow..." he smiled as I nodded, "later Tom" I smiled as I got out of the car, I made my way to my house, waved bye to him again and then walked inside. I closed the door, locked it, and sighed. I threw my stuff onto the coffee table, sat down on the couch with a loud groan. 'Man...Tom is actually really cute in leather...he's so easy to talk to...I've never told anyone but Jenko about what happened...and then this fresh blood comes in...and I tell him nearly everything about my life...what's happening to me?' I ran my fingers through my hair. I got off the couch, walked upstairs, changed into my pajamas, brushed my teeth, and went to bed. I woke up the next morning, ate breakfast, brushed my teeth, curled my hair, put on makeup, and then got dressed.
I then went to work. I walked into the chapel, "hey! She finally graces us with her presence!" Jenko spoke as I chuckled and grabbed me a soda from the fridge, "sorry...I was out last night teaching that one how to be a teen again..." I pointed to Tom as he smirked at me, "all right, all right...come on guys..." Jenko spoke as I sat on the table. "All right Y/n, how is your case coming?" he asked, "well father, I have straight A's and the rich kids are so close on letting me in on their secret organization" I spoke in a proper voice as they all chuckled, "define close" Jenko spoke as I smiled, "they said they'vee gotta talk about it with their parents...apparently their parents know about whatever this organization they've got running is...but until then, I've just gotta keep up the rich, smart girl act..." I spoke in my normal, "hence the outfit?" Harry cocked an eyebrow, "yes..." I said pushing the fake glasses up, throughout the morning of Jenko talking about all of our cases, I could feel eyes on me, I looked up from looking at my soda when I opened it and saw that Tom was staring at me.
I gave him a look that told him to pay attention, he smirked and then returned his attention to Jenko. 'Oh man...he's gonna be like Doug...constantly hitting on me...great' I sighed as I hopped off the table, I got into my car and went to school.
