Lunch was awkward. The Kim family used to spend lunch break together in the bookstore, eating pre-cooked food. But today truth was on the table as well. When Jhogwhan and Seunghwan arrived with plastic bags full of food and refreshments they did not expect to see two large werewolves cuddling and kissing while their son was fuming in anger and irritation.

The moment the two arrived was the moment Namjoon threw a pillow at the couple shouting “Stop reproducing, hormonal beasts!!!” At first they didn’t recognize the young men on the couch till the smell of forest, oozing from the two hit the older couple, as well a playful “Hey Leaders~” reached their ears. Their eyes fell on the fuming Namjoon who looked at his parents doing a wide gesture with his arms

“Well Leaders? Will you sit?”

As you understand dear readers, it was not an easy meal. Namjoon heard his parent’s explanation carefully trying to find any signs of lying, but he found none. Even though this issue included supernatural creatures and unbelievable magic related concepts he couldn’t find it in himself to not believe it.

It was so logical…

Let me tell you what Namjoon was told.

“What the Jin and Taehyung told you was right” Seunghwan started and reached for his partners hand for comfort “We are all shifters. Wolf shifters. Werewolves… whatever you feel more comfortable with… The whole concept about werewolves leaving in a pack house is mostly because of the image TV shows have built”

“There is a pack house but you are not obliged to stay in it” Taehyung rushed to explain when he saw the confusion in Namjoon’s eyes. Everyone turned to look at him who straightened up and took his cue to continue “It’s hidden and not all wolves live there. Some chose to live in town and come only during the full moon to hide or help with the young. Jin and I live there cause we like the place and don’t want it empty.”

Namjoon nodded at that but another question arouse

“You say full moon. I assume it affects shifters… why was I not affected all these years and why was I not told about it. It’s because I’m a human?” he asked having a slight hope that the reason why he was left out of all this was because he was not a part of it all. But it was all shuttered when Jhogwhan looked around and sighed before looking at his only son.

“Shifters are a completely different species than humans. We started evolving as humans but along the way our DNA got messed up and now…now we are supernatural, as the humans say. All shifters are fertile…even males. We don’t know how that’s possible but it is” Jhogwhan squeezed his partners hand as he reached his other to hold Namjoon’s

“So… I’m not adopted?” Namjoon was frozen in place. That was one detail he had to swallow and not try to decipher. His brain tried to find an explanation as to how can a male conceive. His father looked into his eyes and smiled gently as he shook his head

“No baby…I carried you for 9 months… You’re our biological kid” said Jhogwhan and kneeled in front of Namjoon with his hands holding the younger man’s.
