A/N: Haha.. So I'm NOT dead! I gathered my motivation to actually start writing from rereading all the comments tho hahha and got reminded that I HAVEN'T replied to some. I'm SORRY BUT I JUST DUNNO WHAT TO SAY SOMETIMES OKAY! I swear I've read all the comments at LEAST 5 times each! Thank you so much btw! Those comments are the reason another chapter even exist.. I made this one a bit longer for compensation (4500 words baby~)
"Ugh, my everything is still so sore, I can't believe she has thought to bring ropes" "Aye... If I were a real cat this would have been animal abuse!" "But you ARE a cat.." "But not exactly a CAT cat! I'm a talking cat! That makes all the difference!"
'This...conversation makes zero sense... and honestly how can they still act so relaxedly after that really scary situation back there...'. He now understands why Natsu fears Erza so much, she reminds him of Lal Mirch actually.
On their way to the temple, Gray (honestly, it's a relief that he can stop referring to him as 'that injured guy') took the opportunity to explain the whole story behind Lyon and Deliora (apparently, a giant bull demon created by the dark wizard Zeref is currently sealed by Gray's teacher with ice that can't be melted through normal means.)
The mood turns somber as they all listened to what they know is a very sensitive part of Gray's past.Gray's teacher (Ul) had sacrificed herself to save Gray who at the time wanted to gain revenge on Deliora.
Tsuna felt pretty undeserving hearing all this when they barely know each other (he had just learnt his name for goodness sake).
"What happened here?!", jolted out of his thoughts, he noticed that they can now see the ruins from here and that it has somehow tilted itself overnight.
A bit exasperated, he is certain he knows who caused this, "It must be Natsu" from Gray's expression, he's definitely thinking the same. Quite the good move actually, now the moon-drip won't be able to reach the demon underneath. While very few and far in between, Natsu certainly has his brilliant moments.
They did not have more time to gape when the rustling of leaves alerted them to a new presence.
"Eek, a whole bunch of weirdos!" Or multiple presences.
"Go!" Erza equipped her sword, facing the enemies "I'll handle the situation here" Tsuna smiled secretly, it's her way to show Gray that she had cared, and from all the shocked faces, they clearly hadn't made that connection. "Go and finish things with Lyon"
While this is a heartwarming progression, Gray's wounds haven't fully healed yet, not to mention he's still quite exhausted from the previous fight. Making up his mind, Tsuna lighted his fists, and while it looked like he's kicking some ass, one particularly big fire explosion masked his second goal pretty well.
It's good Gray's back is turned so he won't be able to (hopefully) notice the floating fireball aimed at him. 'Pleasedon'tnoticepleasedon'tnotice-'
______________________________________
Gray didn't expect many things to have happened in the past 24 hours. First, somehow joining Natsu's suicide mission when his initial goal was to prevent him to take said mission. Second, finding out fucking Deliora is on this cursed-island and that freaking Lyon wants to kill Ul a second time. Third, Erza. Fourth, Erza actually deciding to help them. And Fifth, Natsu and Lucy adopted a kid and said kid is with them, partaking in an S-class mission they're illegally doing. (Really, he would have expressed his displeasure of how bad an idea this really is, but refrained, knowing Erza has allowed the kid to join them herself and he knew Erza's judgement in these kinds of things are usually spot-on).
A sudden explosion resounded and Gray quirked a small smile, it's just like his friends to be extra flashy. 'Hm?' furrowing his eyebrows, his senses are telling him something is coming, he turned around and barely registered something bright before it collided against his chest and dissipated.
