one realization
happened without a fuss
that her wish is nothing but
a hopeless cause.
one second
they're eyes met again
but now the girl
looked away in pain.
one mistake
and now drowning in misery
why was she punished
for wishing some fantasy?
one promise
she broke once more,
that she'd never look at this man again
like a darling paramour.
one silent night
in a rusty old jeepney
are two lonely passengers
sitting knee to knee.
one has finally slept
the other is trying to break free,
from a cage of one unrequited love that
keeps on resurfacing in her memory.
