"'And they will lower me into a hole in the ground.' God, how do you come up with this level of genius?"
"How do you come up with all your genius plot lines?"
"Touché."

Teagan Carran was known for never saying a word. One could either see her in the library cuddled up with a good book, or in the corner of the cafeteria, sandwich balanced in one hand, pencil scribbling furiously into a notebook with the other.

Because of her silence, she was often the keeper of secrets that no one knew she held.

For example, she knew that:

-the beanie-wearing trumpet player really had blue hair and loved to play the drums.
-one of the rich kids was actually adopted.
-the head cheerleader had once tried a Mexican diet pill which ended up just being tapeworms, and that was why she had spent three days in the hospital.
-Amanda Stern, the prettiest girl in school and half of the school's power couple, was cheating on her boyfriend.

But Teagan was content with keeping her secrets and weaving them into the stories she wrote instead of eating lunch. Because of her lonely existence, when one of her short stories goes missing, she's upset, sure, but she doesn't think much of it. Until it's published in the school newspaper, outing Amanda. Now the once-ignored girl is on the shit list of every bully in the school. Not knowing anyone well enough to be considered friends, Teagan is alone in the world of emotional and physical abuse she had been thrust into.

Until she's approached by a boy with a rubber band on his wrist and a pen attached to his shirt.
