Rhians POV
My parents wake me up to tell me this at six thirty in the morning. Why you ask, Well that is to tell me that I was adopted when my sister and I were babies. After my parents left my room I got out of bed and ran upstairs to my sisters' room. But the joke is on them, I already knew. It is time to see if my sister knew about it.
I barge in and ask "Did you know that we were adopted and not even born in the United States, but born in Ireland."
She turns and says "Yes, they told me a few months ago and told me not to say anything. I was planning on telling you, but Dad told me not to. So instead he bought me a trip instead. That is when I took a couple of my friends to New York."
"Why the fuck would you keep this from me? So you are just going to be a bitch about it and act like it doesn't matter? Ray it does matter, like who could our birth parents be? "
Before she can answer our dad comes onto the intercom and says "Girls you are needed in the kitchen, the family needs to talk."
"This is not over." I say with a really pissed off attitude.
We sigh and head down the stairs; we walk to the kitchen and see our older brother who is supposed to be in Afghanistan. I ran over and jumped into his arms and hugged him.
"What the hell are you doing home Deck?" I inquire.
"I'm home on leave for two weeks and wanted to surprise you all. But anyways, Dad you have something to tell us.
"Yes, we are moving to Green Bay, Wisconsin." He said anxiously.
"So start packing, the boxes have been put in your rooms. If you need more, go to the garage and get what you need." Mom spoke.
Rheagan asked "why this time dad?" and he didn't answer, so we all went our separate ways.
As I was walking to the garage I could hear Deck and my parents arguing in Gaelic.
Then I hear Deck say in English "Why would you say that she is adopted, I was the one who was supposed to tell her. You guys really fucked this one up, because when she starts asking questions what are you going to say? No honey we can't tell you that your blood parents are terrorists and want you dead. That you and your sister come from the most powerful families in Ireland. You have been hiding since the day you were born. Yeah like that's going to go over well."
"Son that's enough." My father yelled.
Then Deaglan went back to Gaelic and I couldn't understand him any longer.
What did I just listen to? I was absolutely shocked and didn't know what to think. Then the overthinking started to kick in. Who were my real parents and why did they want Rheagan and I dead? Is this why we have to always move? How does Deaglan know any of this? Does Rheagan know about any of this? Then I got the feeling. No Rhian you can't, what would your family think. Deck wouldn't talk to you. I shook the feeling and went to pack up my room.
We never know why we are moving we just always do, but maybe what Deaglan and my parents were talking about is why. When we finally start to like a place my dad makes us pack up and move. I am used to it by now. When I get to my room I open my laptop and put on music. My closet is going to be the hardest to pack because it's all expensive clothes. Us girls have our own hairdresser and makeup artist that lives in the house. Mom always wants us to look our best when going anywhere.
