Before we get into the very prominent parts of writing, we have to cover the very basics. Proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar is a necessity to writing a good story. All the good ideas in the world does not matter if you do not deliver it in a clear and concise manner. If you don't care to write it in an easy to read way, readers will not care to read your work.

For example, what would you rather read?

This:

he looked up he smiled "you are soo pretty." she blushed "thanks =uwu='

Or this:

He looked up and he smiled.

"You are so pretty," he said, smiling.

She blushed a bright pink. "Thank you!"

As you can see, one is far more interesting than the other to read and far more clear. Good punctuation, proper grammar and spelling, and clear structure are needed for stories to succeed. Of course, sometimes young writers don't know the fundamentals, especially if they are just starting out or if English is not their native language.

Please have some grace when correcting them and be aware of how words affect them when you criticize.

In the next chapter, I will expand on the topic of grammar.
