Small Notes

The author's note.

Everyone puts them at the beginning and/or end of their stories. It's a great way to give your thoughts about the work, background information on the process of the story, and news on future updates and works. Some put it at the beginning, some at the end, and some not at all. There's no wrong way on how to write an author's note but there is a wrong way in where.

Never put an author's note or author thoughts in the middle of the narrative. Ever.

I know some people want to make jokes and all, but it is honesty a massive pet peeve.

It is an unpleasant surprise. Just imagine watching a movie and the producer or director suddenly pauses it to say something like a joke or comment. Just imagine the iconic scene of the Titanic, as Rose promises Jack she'll never let go and live her life regardless of what happens to him.

The sea is unnaturally quiet, the only sound being the water lapping against the wood Rose hangs onto. As voices of the men come and go, Rose is overcome by resolve. She promised him she'd live. Choking back tears, she finally pries herself from her beloved Jack and promises one thing.

"I'll never let go, Jack." (A/N: DOn't woory guys, It'll be ok in the end ok bai =^.^=)

There are people who do that. Don't do that. It is annoying, distracting, and can really slow down a story. You can give that note of comfort but leave it for the end, like a not at the end credit. Your story deserves the best, so give it the best delivery!
