I reached home at around 11.30am, my mind and heart still drolling over Sam until i saw my dad, arms crossed, pacing back and forth across the living and my mom with her head bowed, looked extremely worried. I entered slowly, giving myself time to brace for what lay ahead but my slippers, all soaked from the rain water outside squeaked, making me stop in my tracks as both of my parents head snapped up simultaneously. I stood still, cursing them under my breath as i took a deep breath and faced my parents, who were evidently very worried. My mother was the first one to speak, rushing to my side in a moment,

"Gosh, Vi! Where have you been, sweetheart?! We hav_"

"Im alright mom." i smiled at her, rubbing my palms across her cheek. She hugged me tightly and that was when she noticed my clothes, all wet from the rain.

"What have you been up to?" she asked, more seriously now, running her hand over my wet night shirt, "Don't tell me you've been soaking yourself in the rain water!" she asked, horrified at the thought.

I looked at my father then who seemed to relax by now and was smiling, only slightly, at me. When our eyes met he winked at me before quickly composing his expressions. I smiled at that.

"Only a little," i lied, reaching up to my dad to hug him. He was, undoubtedly, the best father in the world. When we pulled away, he whispered, "Get away before your mom starts up." i giggled before planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Only a little! Really Violet?! Did you_," i quickly went up to her and kissed her on the cheek stopping her from whatever she was going to speak,

"I love you mom!" i laughed, "You the best!" i shouted as i reached for the stairs.

She backed up in a momentary shock, as i ran up the stairs before giving her any chance to speak again. The last thing i heard was my mom giving my dad a lecture him on spoiling me so much, before i closed the door on them.Poor him.

11.45 PM.

I closed my maths book and leaned back against the the bed, rubbing my temples. It was a tough assignment with all the integration curves and derivatives and it had taken almost my entire day to complete it. To sum it all up, it was bull-shit. I groaned as i moved out of the bed with the realization that i had school tomorrow. School had started just a weak before and already it was a pain in the ass. Summers High School was never my first, i had always wanted to go to England for high school but since a lot of people, including my parents, thought it was a 'pretty good school' in our area, i decided to give it a try. I could always go to England for higher studies. you know.

I checked the time and it was already thirty minutes past the curfew. I quickly changed into my night dress and jumped into my bed, pulling the covers upto my chin. Silently praying my night prayers i fell into an exhausted sleep, unconciously holding the wrist of my right hand tightly to my heart... the same exact place Sam had touched me this morning.

*tring tring*

I woke up with a start, rubbing my eyes with my knuckles to see clearly through the haze. I felt for the tip of the alarm clock to shut the noise off when it fell off the side table with a thud. Groaning loadly i reached for the clock with half-closed eyes when my fingers touched its broken lid and just like that i jumped up in my bed with a start. Looking here and there i searched for its lid and found it lying just beneath the dressing table. I got up from the bed, embracing the fact that it wasn't going to be a good day ahead, and reached for the lid. I took the lid and sat on the bed, trying to decide what to do with it when i placed it on top of the clock..and it fit! Blinking at it for a moment or two, i tilted the clock to see if it actually fit or was it just the trick of the eyes, and it did! The lid didn't fall! I laughed, kissing the lid tightly, happy that i wouldn't have to face another blow of my mom's 'tantrums' and gently placed it on the side table beside me, afraid it might fall again. With a sigh i went to the table, taking out my bag of toilettes and made my way to the washroom. After half an hour which is ten minutes more than my usual, i was done brushing my hairs, quickly tieing them up in a pony tail and almost ran downstairs. I didn't want to be late yet again!

Mom and dad weren't up yet, they usually got up after i was gone, except on weekends that is.I ran to the kitchen and took out a bottle of orange juice from the fridge and quickly poured it in a glass, gulping it all in one single breath and placing it in the sink while running out of the house. It was 7.45, which meant i just had ten more minutes. I looked up at the clouds through the windshield of my car as i sat in, turning the ignition. They were already forming a dense mass with each passing second. Shit! I hadn't even taken my jacket along! If i go in now when i hardly had a spare minute to lose, i'd definitely be late. Surely a bad day.

I turned the car out to the left with full force, as i headed for the school, ignoring the whether altogether. I might turn lucky, you know.
