MADDIE ran. she ran so fast that you could barely see her. the rain splashed up on her blue jeans, tears streaming down her cheek. the florida air felt denser as each second passed. she looked up at the stars. the constellations looked beautiful in the dark blue light. the streets were lined with cars all the way down the block.
"fuck." she cussed under her breath. "i don't know if im gonna make it." she whispered to herself, out of breath. her mandarin highschool hoodie, soaked, turning from a dark green to a black.
there was one thing she knew as she ran, never stopping. maddie had to get there. she needed to save her. she needed to cure her, before she took off.
