"You seriously still not talking to me Adama?" Abu asked as I grabbed my purse. Ignoring him, I went into the living room where everyone but Rell stood ready to leave for brunch.
"Haja, can you check for my keys upstairs." My dad asked me.
"Sure thing daddy-o." I said as I began to walk up the steps. Once finding them on his dresser I walked back out into the hallway to see Darrell exiting the guest room he stayed in last night. He looked at me and didn't say anything and proceeded to walk down the stairs. Sighing, I followed suit and handed my dad his keys.
"Everyone knows who's riding with who right?" Abu asked.
"Explain it please Hassan, you know some people are a little slow." My dad said while looking at my aunty. We all laughed as she rolled her eyes.
"Ard. Aunty and Lé are riding with dad. Aziz is riding with me. And Adama is going with him." Abu referred to Darrell obviously irritated.
"Can I ride with Adama and Relly."
"Nah shawty, you cool where you at. And don't call me that." He said before walking outside.
"Okay, I'll see you all soon." I said before following Rell outside.
"Hakim, hurry up before me and Hassan leave you here." I could hear my dad yell out to Aziz as I went after Rell.
He began to unlock the car doors and I quickly ran in front of him, blocking him from entering the car.
"A, please don't get on my damn nerves today. I'll fling your little ass across the street."
"I'm not moving until you talk to me."
"I'm talking to you now, and I'm telling you to move."
"Can we just talk Rell please."
"Unless you telling me about Amir, I don't want to hear it."
"Rell, I can't get into that."
"Well you can't get into my car. Go ride with your brother or something."
"Are you serious?" At this point everyone had already left. "I couldn't do that even if I wanted to. You bouta make me take an Uber?"
Running his hand down his face first, he went to the other side of the car and opened the door and held it open. "Get your dumbass in the car A."
"Wow. So we're back to this? Name calling? I guess I'm a bitch and a hoe too now?" He didn't say anything but remained at the door, holding it open.
Saying nothing, I walked around the car and to the passenger seat. "My life was way less stressful when you weren't in love with me." I said before sitting down. He simply just slammed my door shut and walked over to the driver's side before getting in.
We had been driving only 5 minutes, and knowing we had 25 minutes left to go, I decided to reach for the radio since the silence was murderous.
"If you ain't pay for it, don't fucking touch it."
Ignoring him, I turned the radio on anyways.
Sighing he turned it back off and continued to drive.
"Stop being a damn baby. I ain't got no kids, so don't be so childish." I said before turning it back on.
"You're the childish one. Fucking brat." Once again he turned off the radio.
"I'll show you childish." I mumbled before turning on the radio and blasting the volume. "Ouuuuu, this my song! I CAN'T KEEP THIS ON THE LOW. I WAAAAANT YOU TO MAKE IT RING RING RING RING! Should I call first? I can't decide. I want to but a bitch got pride. The switchin up shit is what I can't fuck with. I'm feelin you but you hard to get in touch with. And you ain't hit me up in a whi-"
