Azemi was a quirkless child, and ever-so-unfortunately ending up in Bakugo's friend group.
Azemi always defended Izuku, leaving Bakugo offended and yelling at her for being quirkless as well.
Eventually, Azemi got up off of the ground and ran away from the two boys, not turning back. Then, she and her family moved to Europe, where she developed her quirk at 7 years old.
She was determined to be a hero because, her father, who would mentally and physically abuse her, was a villain.
Another reason is because her mother was kidnapped and never seen again.
