You Can't Miss Me...

Exactly a year today. Excitement was bubbling through me as I rushed forward and hugged my mother tightly. She didn't quite understand why I was doing what I was doing but no one did.

"I'm going to miss you, Blue," she whispered in my ear as we hugged and I felt a wet tear on my shoulder. Always so overdramatic.

Pulling away slowly I looked at her. "I'll visit. Promise," I said and smiled widely, turning away and I glanced around, waiting for the familiar blue Ford Fusion that my best friend, Alexandria drove. My mother thought I was going to stay with her in a dorm room during college but really I was going to stay with my boyfriend, Drake. He lived only a few minutes away from our college.

The car suddenly rounded the corner wildly and drove right up to me, stopping perfectly. Alexandria looked at me with her blonde hair flowing in the wind and her sunglasses on her face, covering her lovely ocean blue eyes. She wore a black tanktop like me and tan short shorts like me. We liked to match.

I giggled and opened the back door, quickly moving my boxes into the back seats with hers and then hopping in the front seat, waving at my mother.

Alexandria grinned at me, rolling our windows up and turning her music down. "Are you ready for college, Blue?" she asked.

"You know it." I turned her music back up and she drove away from my house where my mother still stood in the yard.

My hair was light brown and my eyes were green but other than that Alexandria and I matched, almost like twins. We liked the same music and had been friends since birth. 17 years and then 18 tomorrow when I turned into a full adult.

Drake was already 18 and we'd met over the internet. He played xbox and I met him there and he ended up living just a few miles away and we fell in love.

The drive wasn't long and when we pulled up to his house he was already waiting outside, smiling widely.

My excitement and happiness to see the brown-haired, brown-eyed, tall boy that I was so deeply in love with made me jump out of the car and race over to him, hugging him tightly and closing my eyes. He smells so good, I thought to myself. His hands were around my waist and he hugged me tighter. I hadn't see him in a week with work and moving plans covering my schedule.

"Hello beautiful," he whispered. The top of my head ended in the middle of Drake's forehead so he wasn't much taller than me.

I blushed heavily, feeling butterflies in my stomach. "Hello handsome," I whispered back and giggled quietly, hearing a car door close I broke away from the hug to see Alexandria had put my boxes in the grass in a pile and was looking at us with crossed arms.

"I'll get those, you go inside," he ordered and then ran over to the boxes and began picking them up.

Beginning my short walk up to his house I waved goodbye at Alexandria an then entered, looking around.

I had only been in Drake's house once and I'd only seen his first room: the dining room. It was a nice room with a wooden oak table with two matching chairs and a small chandelier on the ceiling. There was a china cabinet the covered the other half of the room, full of fine China dishes that were at his great-grandmother's wedding. He was saving them for his wedding as well as her big beautiful diamond ring that was also in the locker cabinet. The room was painted a nice brown and the floor was also a wooden brown oak.

There was a nice arch-way that lead into the next room: the kitchen.

It was nice and since Drake cooked it meant that he had a nice kitchen. The counters were marble and the cabinets were wooden and black. The fridge was big and silver with a built in freezer. He had a coffee machine and a microwave that I couldn't help but open and noticed that the inside was very clean. Other than that the only other thing in the kitchen was a very nice blender.
