I was... different from the rest of the world. Everyone knew it, it wasn't some big secret. From birth, my parents knew something was up. Growing up, I never showed behavior that made it seem like I was gay, bi, or transgender. I was... normal. No one had encountered this before, they were stunned. They thought we bred out the straights.
In that form, the phrase itself sounds out of place. But I was different from the 7.5 billion people who inhabited the same planet I lived and breathed on. I was different.. very different. Other than the shocking fact that I was straight, I was homophobic. Of course, this isn't something you're born being. It just happens. And it happened to be me.
I never thought I'd meet anyone like me. Straight, homophobic. Until one day..
I met him.
