The dark night

"Bye mom. Bye dad." I said, as they're going to a engagement party tonight. I am having some exams, as it is my final year at school. I am going to start college after this. I'm excited for my exams. I don't know why I love exams so much.

My name is Briella Ava Jones. My dad is a big businessman. My mom is a house wife now, before she was a teacher. Her name is Abby. She looks so beautiful. Everyone says that I got her beauty.

I love my parents so much.

They're the only thing I live.

I can't function without them. I love them more than my life. They're my life. I can't even think of losing them once in life. I know I have to, but I can't think. I know that they'll see my future and be with me forever, even if they go away.

I can't wait to see my future. I want to get into college, get a good job, get married to the love of my life, which is Allan, my crush and my boyfriend. We're dating for five months now. We celebrated our anniversary recently. I love him so much.

I started studying and got a call from Allan. He loves studying as much as I do.

"Hey babe!" He cheered on the phone. "Hey Allan. What's up?" I replied back, enthusiastically. "What are you reading?" He asked. "Ugh, math." I rolled my eyes. "Math? We have history tomorrow." He said, with a shock in his voice. "OMG! I need to recheck the schedule." I crawled over the schedule, as I am juggling with a pile of books, spread around me. "OMG! Yes!"

I screamed over the phone, which made him chuckle, I guess. "See I said."

"Yes baby. I need to restart preparing."

I rolled my eyes. I hate it when I get confused with the exam schedule.

"Okay then. I am reading history of Abraham Lincoln. Should I tell you that over the phone so that you can record it and listen it afterwards?" He asked.

That would be a great help Allan.

"Yes Al. That would be great. One sec." I touched my call record button and he started telling the topic.

After a while of preparation, I became tired. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a carton of mint chocolate chip ice cream and ordered two pizzas for myself.

I love mint chocolate chip ice cream as well as pizzas.

They're life.

Italian is life.

I love Italian food more than anything. But not more than my parents, I reckon.

Chuckling, I walked over to the couch and jumped on it. I turned on the TV. "Friends! Yassss!" I screamed, taking a bite of the ice cream. I started watching the series.

I love friends so much.

I love the wit, humour, sarcasm, the silly things, the new words they coined, the whacky dance moves and everything about it.

Once I and Allan watched friends for two days. I mean we binge watched. I used to go over or he used to come over. We finished it in two days and mom and dad were like really?

I enjoy spending time with myself too. I love myself. But my parents are first priority for me.

After a while, I started eating pizzas, which were door delivered. One is double cheese and other is chicken cheese pepperoni.

Cheese is life.

Food is life.

I can't even survive without food.

I resumed my studying and started reading my favourite chapter, America's formation and independence.

Then I got a call.

"Hello, who's this?" I asked. "Is this Miss. Briella Jones?" The other person said. "Yes." I said. "I'm officer Harrison from SPD."

Omg! Officer Harrison from Seattle Police Department just called me!

What's wrong?

"Y-yes?" I asked. "We need to come over and identify two dead bodies, supposedly your parents."

Tears streamed through my eyes.

M-My parents?

No! They could not be dead.

This couldn't be real.

Omg!

I need Allan right now.

"Y-yes sir. Can you please send me the l-location?"

"Sure. Miss. Jones." He hanged up. A notification popped up on my phone. The location is sent. I immediately called Allan.

"Yeah babe?" He asked. "A-Allan." I sounded shaky.

Hell yeah, my voice is shaking!

It's my parents over there.

"What's wrong baby?" He asked, sounding concerned. I explained everything, crying.

He lives a street away. "I'm coming. Don't worry. We'll go together." He assured. I nodded, crying. He hung up.

"THEY CAN'T BE DEAD!" I screamed, taking a glass and shattering it to the ground. "NO THEY CAN'T LEAVE ME THIS SOON! I NEED THEM!" I screamed, crying hard. "MOM! DAD!"

I heard a car pull up on my drive way.

I'm sure it's mom and dad.

I hurriedly ran out and found out its Allan. I broke down seeing him. "Briella!" He caught me, as I am about to fall down. "Briella, don't lose hope. They'll be fine. I think they just match to your parents features." He tried to console me. "I don't know." I cried. "Shhh... Calm down. Let's go there." He lifted me up with my shoulders and slowly I got into the car. We pulled away from there.

At the scene,

"Hello Miss. Jones." Officer Harrison greeted. "Hello officer." Allan shook hands with him, seeing my condition. "You are?" He asked. "I'm her boyfriend." Allan replied. "Okay, Miss. Jones, if you can identify these bodies." Officer Harrison said. I nodded, slowly walking to the accident scene. They opened the bodies and tears streamed through my eyes.

I was crying my eyes out.

Allan widened his eyes with shock and despair. "Ava?"

He calls like that when he is completely concerned about me. "Speak something." He shook me. I can't let a word out. "Ava, come on. They need to know the fact. Come on Ava."

I shook my head, closing my mouth with one hand and running from there. I cried my eyes out and Allan followed me with Officer Harrison.  "Miss. Jones, are they your parents?" He asked. I nodded my head. "Yes."

Mr. Jones and Abby Jones are dead. I loved writing this chapter mainly in Briella's POV. So yeah, how is this?

What happens next?? I have no idea, do you have any idea? 😉😏
