After a week
It's my parents funeral today.
I lost them.
I don't have a family now.
But anyways, I'll move out to college this year. So it's okay.
But, I don't have a family.
I am all alone.
Allan was there with me all the time.
I'm so grateful to him.
We all assembled in the graveyard back church. I was sobbing into Allan's chest. He held me with care. It's drizzling.
Maybe my mom and dad are not happy that I'm crying.
But, mom and dad, you're gone. I have nothing to do with this world. I'm already broken. My heart is shattered into million pieces. I'm devastated.
I don't know what exactly I need to do.
But yeah, with the help of Allan, I completed my exams.
Now the priest started, "We are gathered here to say farewell to Mr and Mrs. Jones and to commit them into the hands of God." He now took out the holy water, sprinkling out, "In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Then he started the prayer, "Lord our God, you are the source of life. In you we live and move and have our being. keep us in life and death in your love, and, by you grace, lead us to your kingdom, Through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."
I sobbed hard.
"Shhh... Babe relax!" Allan whispered, rubbing my back.
Then the priest continued, "In the Name of God, the merciful Father, we commit the bodies of Mr and Mrs. Jones to the peace of the grave." or "God, our Father, we entrust Mr and Mrs. Jones into your hands"
The priest let the three hand-fulls of earth fall onto the coffin, saying: "From dust you came, to dust you shall return. Jesus Christ, is the resurrection and the life."
Following each of the alternatives above, the priest continued: "Lord God, our Father in heaven, Lord God, the Son, and Saviour of the world, Lord God, the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us. At the moment of death, and on the last day, save us, merciful and gracious Lord God."
Now he started Bible readings, "Let us now listen to the words of Holy Scripture that assures us of God's safe-keeping in life and death." He read some verses from Bible.
Then we actually started the funeral prayer. "Let us pray." Said the priest. We all stood up, bowing our heads down and crossing our hands slightly. "Our Father in heaven, we thank you that, through Jesus Christ, you have given us the gift of eternal life. Keep us firm in the faith, that nothing can separate us from your love. When we loose someone who is dear to us, help us to receive your comfort and to share it with one another. We thank you for what you have given us through Mr and Mrs. Jones. We now entrust ourselves to you, just as we are, with our sense of loss and of guilt, When the time has come, let us depart in peace, and see you face to face, for you are the God of our salvation. Amen."
I sobbed hardly.
I can't believe that we're here doing this.
My parents are actually dead.
They can't come into this world now.
We started the lord's prayer. "Let us say the Lord's Prayer together: Our Father, who is in heaven. Let your name be kept holy. Let your kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our bread for the day to come. And forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom. the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen. Our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen."
