Decker

"Someone who got the call from Death-Cast and is predicted to die within the next 24-hours."
Synonyms: Lost causeThis fanfic is based on the following block of text from the book called "They Both Die at the End" By Adam Silvera.
"On the day Graham received his alert he insisted on spending his End Day working. If he could die saving lives, it was a better way to go than one last lay.
The officers were pursuing a Decker who was signing up for Bangers, the challenge for online feed that has had a heartbreaking amount of daily hits and downloads the past four months. People tune in every hour to watch Deckers kill themselves in the most unique way possible to go out with a bang. The most popular deaths win the Decker's family some decent riches from an unknown source, but for the most part, it's just a bunch if Deckers who don't kill themselves creatively enough to please the viewers and, well, you don't exactly get a second shot. Graham's attempts to prevent a Decker from riding a motorcycle off of the Williamsburg Bridge only got himself killed... If you're close enough to a Decker when they die, you won't be able to put words to anything for the longest time. But few regret spending every possible minute with them while they were still alive." (Silvera 292-293).

August 29, 10:28amI woke up to the sound of birds chirping. For once without my alarm clock blaring its sirens into my ears. That's an accomplishment. Rolling out of bed I put on my uniform.
I was about to fry myself some eggs when I noticed that the clock on the oven read 10:34 am.
"Oh crap, I'm late!"
My dog Marco was jumping at me.
"Not now buddy I've gotta get to work.
Today was the day Graham died. It's been five years now but I still miss him.
I called out to my german shepard, "Guard the house boy!"
Rushing outside I grabbed my gun and badge slamming my apartment door shut. I got into my car and slammed my feet on the gas.

August 29, 11:30 amI was recently hired by Death-Cast to become a herald. My first few calls were a bit... stressful to say the least. One thing I will never understand is the rules. Or rather a specific rule. The rule that states that Deckers are not human beings anymore.

August 30, 9:49 am"Hello Mr. Andrade, my name is Korra Lee. I'm calling from Death-Cast and behalf of our company I am sorry to say that you are dying today."
"What?"
"I'm sorry sir I understand that this is a lot to take in."
"Is this a joke?" I have gotten several prank-calls about my death since Graham's death from the younger cadets. This could be another one. Right?
"I assure you this is not a joke sir."
"If this isn't a joke can I meet you?"
"Pardon me?"
