Alone In New York

IN THE STREETS OF NEW YORK

Mina was coming home from work. It has been a really long tiring day. But now, she really is not focusing on day, she's lost in her thoughts.....

Mina Kollel is one fine young woman, in her mid-late tweentys, or specifically 26 year old. Lives in New York, Manhattan, office worker, single, parents and brother lives in Florida, Miami. She is here cause New York has always been her dream city to live from childhood. But right now time is not in her side.

It has been 6 year since she came, she was, and still is pretty young for the state if success she has now. But all reward goes to her hard work. And obviously she was totally worth it, she was, is capable of standing on her field alone.

First 3 years took her effort she could afford from her every fiber to bring her where she is, she may had to fight with her family a little as they wanted her to stay there. But she got full support from her brother, and let's just say it all paid of.

But from next 2 years she has been through a lot. She can't even tell anyone. She had to change her job 5 times within this 2 years but things didn't changed at all.....

It was around 8.30 in evening. She was walking in the dark path behind her apartment. She was fond of the surroundings there, the calmness, cold winds, they always helped her feel better. And yes it was the apartments property so it was pretty safe.

She zoned out a little to notice that little footsteps behind her. She was shocked from the sound. She rapidly moved her head and saw a tiny kitten. It was totally black, and had beautiful green eyes, it was really captivating.

Mina felt her head went dizzy a little. But she ignored it and took the cat in her lap. The cat was hungry, shivering and lonely. She decided she will take her home.

"what's your name kitty"

"mew"

"I know, I'm lonely too, looks like my luck really ran out this time, what do you think"

"mew"

"I'll name you Emmarold...short Emma.... "

"Mew mew"

"you happy"

"..."

"me too now"

Mina went home and fall asleep right after taking care if the cat and putting it on her bed by her. She indeed was tired.

Next morning she couldn't find Emma anywhere, so she did she morning routine and was about to go out just to see the cat out of the door sitting and stearing at her...

"mew"

A little voice brought her out of her daydream, she didn't bothered to care how the cat went out if the room when every door and window was locked. Not it was important then.

She just put her in room, locked it and went to office. Next, everything was pretty normal. She reached the bus stop in time, got a window sit, her boss gave her lesser work today, okay, it was not usual, today was a bit too good for her. But her mind was filled with Emma's eyes to think of anything else.

"Earth to Mina darling"

"oh God will you ever learn to stop Matt.... "

Matthew Anderson, Mina's best friend, colleague, and some one who really adored her, but like a sister. He has a crush, like, a really huge one, on Luna Ross, a girl friend from him college, but that's another story. Anyway, he was the only one in New York who Mina considered as a true friend, there were other too, but she couldn't count them, not anymore after all that she went through......
