The sunlight crept into the window of Patch's room, causing him to wake and see his precious angel curled in a ball next to him with her head on his chest.

He watched her in her sleep a lot it was a rare time where she acutally looked peaceful and as always beautiful. He looked at her voluminous brown, curly hair, her smooth pale skin, her long thin legs, but as he looks at her arms he notices little red marks on her wrists.

Patch became very worried about his best friend, he knew she has a lot of pain in her life but he never thought she would go this far. Patch held her tighter trying to rid her of her demons but how could he do that when he has so many of his own?

Patch guessed Hank could of pushed her to it. Hank always made Nora feel like she wasnt good enough and she belived him just becasue Nora was afriad of Hank. Marcie also could of caused because Marcie got all the love of the two girls even though Nora's mom had nothing to do with the conceving of Marcie, Blyhte would still treat Marcie better than she would treat Nora. It has been that way ever since Blythe married Hank, with Marcie getting handed the world on a silver platter all while Nora was the one that had to deliver said platter.

Blythe was so blinded by Hank MIller and all his money that she often forgot about Nora, plus the fact that Marcie would always make Nora seem like the bad guy didnt help. So slowly over the years Hank and Marcie tricked Blythe into beliving that Nora was a bad child and wasnt deserving of their upity and social lifestyle that they now lived. So ever since Harrision died Nora has been parented, protected, cherished, supported by Patch.

                                                      ========================

Nora woke up to Patch clinging to her body tightly and glaring at the wall as if it was about to attack him. Nora was confused until she saw her arm and found that her sleeve had ridden up during her sleep so she slowly slid her sleeve back down and fisted her hands into her sleeves to hid her whole arm.

"Nora" Patch's voice startled her and she slowly picked up her head but didnt meet his eyes by hiding behind her hair. Patch met her eyes by putting a finger under her chin and lifting her face to his locking her scared looking eyes to his stern looking ones.

"What" she said quietly knowing full well where this conversation was headed.

"What are these?" Patch asks her as he pulls her sleeve down and points to the thin red lines that now mark her body.

"Patch you dont uderstand. Its just GOD! theres so much shit in my life I needed something to take the pain away" Nora lashes out at him without meaning to then she hid her face in her hands trying to hid the tears from him.

Patch didnt say anything he just gently grabbed her wrists and wiped the tears from her face and then rolling up her sleeve all the way. Patch looked into her eyes and all he saw was a confused Nora staring back at him, so he jsut gave her a reassuring smile an brought her arm up to his mouth where he kissed the cuts with care and taking his time with each one. When he finished he looke dup at his angel and saw tears slowly falling from her blushing  cheeks.

"I know I shouldnt of have cut myself but it just, I dont. UGH. Everything hurts inside, Patch. Ever since my dad died It has been that way and then got worse when my mom married Hank and we enede up moving in with him and Marcie.  Im so sorry Patch"

"Nora, angel Im not mad at you this is apart of your life now." Patch said locking eyes with her. "I just need you to promise me Nora, to never ever do this again. Promise me that if life gets too heavy you come and talk to me and not handle it this way. Promise me angel, Im your best friend I'll always listen to you"

After Patch said that Nora had a few stray tears on her face that she quickly wiped off. She never thought anyone would ever care for her as much as her best friend did, her mom was always busy with work or Hank to even notice Nora, her other friend Vee was fun but couldn't have a serious conversation to save her life, and Scott bullied her along with her step sister Marcie, both of them mad her feel inferior constanly. But Patch was different than all of them, he cared and showed it.

Nora looked in the black pools that were his eyes, which she often found herself getting lost in.She just solemly nodded her head promising him that she would stop.

After that Patch smiled at her and she knew that her only comfort and happiness would be found in Patch no matter what was going in her life.
