SKYLAR'S POV
I slammed the files of papers on my brothers lap.
"Here's the proof that you wanted," I spat in anger. For months I have known that the government was secretly performing experiments on mutants but Richard had never believed me. Yesterday, I found one of their research labratory and stole files.
By now, you must be wondering who I am. We are project X. We help mutants, recruit them, and send them to Xaviers school. Xavier also keeps us as back up just in case anything is wrong. Kristin and I also do some spy work.
This secret group contained five different mutants including me. So l let's start from the beginning. My brother Richard and I ran away from home at the age of 14 after we realized that our parents were never going to accept us as mutants. Xavier took us in and trained us. I have the ability to control metal and another unique quality. You probably heard of Mystique. Xavier's childhood friend...or used to be friend. I have an ability similiar to hers. By touching someone, my cells can replicate and copy their DNA to look and sound just like them. But thats not all, if a mutant has a physical abilty like turning invisible or turning into glass, my cells can copy that ability. However, I can't copy mental abilities like reading someones mind or to control water. My original name was Skylar but I changed it to Elleta when I became part of Project X. However, the name Elleta doesn;t seem to be sticking so I'll just keep it Skylar for now. Now let's move on to my brother. My brother Richard has the ability to turn into ice (an ability that I can do since I have copied his DNA also), freeze things, manipulate ice, and frost. When we became older, Xavier gathered some of his top 5 students and combined them together to make project X. Kristin was one of my best friends in Xaviers school. Her mutant abilities were to turn invisible, go through things like walls, and stick on to walls. We became very close and did most of the research collection for the school and Xavier. Julie was a very unique mutant. It could be the fact that she was cousins with Emma Frost but they had the same exact mutant abilities. Thanks to her, I could also turn my whole body into a diamond. She was also a very strong telepath that learned a lot from Xavier. Last but not least, was June. She was the wings of the operation. With a 10 foot span of each white wing she could knock over anyone and fly way up high.
"We can't go in. It's too risky. We can all get caught," Richard said shaking his head.
"Richard, they have two mutants in there. Xavier agreed with me too,"
"It's not like the other times. This place is highly guarded. If we get caught, its over."
"I know you're in charge but that's why it's your responsibility to rescue those mutants,"
Richard stayed quiet and thought about it.
"Okay. But you have to do what I say. You can't just do whatever you want this time. It's too dangerous,"
"Okay fine."
"Skylar."
"What?"
"This time it's only going to be with you, me, and Kristin."
"Why?"
"There's only so many people Kristin can help turn invisible.It'll be safer with just you and me. Besides, tthe smaller the group, the less risky. Plus your abilities are very important in this,"
I rolled my eyes and walked out.
