When I finally came to, my body was aching all over, but I wasn't sprawled out like I landed. I was in a comfortable laying position on my back with a pillow propping up my head; which throbbed by the way. After a moment of nervous hesitation, wondering if the doctor people managed to find me, I pushed away the fear and blinked out my drowsy eyes.
As I did, they were greeted with a sight that made my eyes prickle painfully, but in the most delightful way possible. Staring down at me with his beautiful sky blue eyes was none other than Liam. His eyes were wide with shock, salty liquid dripping down from them. That only worsened my situation, fighting down a cry of relief as I went to hug him, but whimpered in protest.
Liam seemed to recognize my pain as he quickly leaned down, taking me in his arms without hesitation.
"Gabriel," I heard him breathe in relief, and my body shook in effort to control my tears in his shoulder. My arms wrapped around his torso and I saw the bandages slowly traveling up them, but for the moment choosing to focus on Liam's warmth and reassurance.
"I'm so happy you found me," I cried softly into his shoulder, fingers digging into his shirt in order to clam myself down.
"Me too Gabe, me too," he replied quietly, and I smiled at the contact of his fingers brushing through my messy locks. I relaxed in his arms, frowning slightly as they unraveled from my body. Liam must have caught my expression because a soft chuckle escaped from his lips.
"We can get back to that, but for now I think I should tell you a few things, and then you can tell me a few things," his tone grew serious and I sighed softly, but knew that it had to get done. After all, I didn't even know how long it had been since we'd seen each other. I just knew that it had been far far too long.
"First of all Gabe, it's been four days since we found you on that trail." Liam's words shocked me entirely. I've been unconscious for four days? My eyes widened as I looked at him.
"I've been unconscious for-?" "Yes, for four days Gabriel."
I tried to fully process that information, but Liam began speaking again.
"But, wait. Do you know how long you were with Bill?" Liam asked cautiously.
"No, I don- wait! How do you know his name?" My head was now spinning painfully and I cringed in pain, covering my eyes with my hand. But there wasn't much to shield it from seeing as we were in some sort of makeshift teepee, the only light coming from the slim opening.
Liam looked at me with a small smile. "I think I should bring someone else in to explain that to you," he stood up, but I grabbed his sleeve. The material felt soft and gentle on the tips of my fingers.
"D-Don't go please," I mumbled, voice coming out small and hesitant. To my surprise, Liam leaned down towards me and I felt a pair of surprisingly soft lips brush my forehead. I leaned into them, enjoying the lingering scent of Liam before he pulled away gently.
"I'll be right back, Gabriel."
I nodded, and with that he walked quietly out. In his absence I decided to really take in my surroundings. I was laying on some type of cot, with what looked like three blankets bellow me and two on top. I also now noticed that I had in just my boxers and pants. But examining how many bandages were covering my body I could see why.
Not much else was in the room I was in, so I closed my eyes and awaited the arrival of Liam and whoever the other person he was bringing in was. Finally I heard footsteps and my eyes fluttered open. I expected to see my best friend, but my eyes widened as they laid on the person I least expected to see.
