Linda Reagan looked out her car window, watching the rain pour out of the clouds, mocking the tears pouring out of her eyes. She had just had one of the worst fights she had ever had with her husband. It had started last night, and both of them had stormed out of the house angrily. Linda sighed again as she tried to banish the memories and the hurtful words that swarmed her head. She and her husband had been fighting more and more ever since she had gotten shot.
Linda hated herself for thinking the awful things about her loving husband, but, gosh darn it, sometimes he was so mean. He never ever physically abused her, but a lot of the times, his angry words and looks hurt more then the gun wounds.
"What's happening to us?" Linda whispered as she pulled up to the hospital.

Detective Danny Reagan heaved a huge sigh as he rubbed his eyes.
"Tough night?" His partner, Maria Baez, wondered as she placed a cup of coffee on his desk.
"Yes..." he sipped the black coffee, not caring how it scalded his tongue. Not caring how it burned all the way down, feeling like a fire inside him. He was mad- mad at Linda, mad at the perp who shot her, and mad at himself, although he didn't realize that aspect yet.
"I'm guessing by that sigh and the annoyance of that 'yes', that it wasn't a good night." Baez sat down and powered up her computer.
"Linda and I had a fight again." He hid his face in the computer screen, hoping Baez wouldn't see the hurt in his eyes.
"Oh... wanna talk about it?"
Danny gave Baez a weird look. "What are you? My wife?"
"Apparently you don't...." she sipped her own coffee, hoping her partner and one of her best friends, possibly the best, would forego his pride and open up to her.

Jamie Reagan and his partner, Eddie Janko, waited in their squad car. It had been an incredibly slow day, which seemed odd, as rainy days caused the stupidity to shine.
"Okay. Would you rather... make love to someone you admire.... or.... watch your brother and his wife make love?" Eddie smiled at Jamie, who had a disgusted look on his face.
"I'm not answering that."
"You have to."
"I'll only answer if you answer first."
"Answer my own 'would you rather' question?"
"Yeah. Would you rather make love to the person you look up to, or watch my brother go at it with his wife?"
Eddie thought for a minute, then laughed, "I'd rather watch your brother and his wife."
"What?"
"I could learn some pointers. Word on the street says that your brother is a lean, mean, loving machine."
Jamie laughed, "we're talking 'bout Danny right? And who says that?"
"All my friends. I've got one up at the 5-4. Apparently, your brother's partners have witnessed some weird conversations between him and his wife."
"You'd rather watch?"
"Wouldn't you?"
Jamie sighed, "I suppose so."
What neither of them was telling each other was that they'd rather make love to the person they admire. Because the person Jamie admired was sitting right next to him, and the person Eddie admired was sitting right next to her.
