A sleep is what normal human normally needs, as it is a necessity to rest one body. Nighttime is the perfect time to finally let dream conquer you.

But, not all dreams turn out pleasant. There is a type of dream, an unpleasant dream that can cause a strong emotional response from the mind, typically fear but also despair, anxiety and great sadness. It's called a nightmare.

The Grace Field children are also normal humans, they would experience nightmare for sure.

How would ones deal with their nightmares?

- Emma -

I believe that Emma is, -believe it or not-, one of the people that have nightmares often, especially after the escape.

On her childhood, she rarely had it. Her nightmare will maybe consist of how she will be sad to have her family get adopted or someday parted with her Mama. So she will wake up in the middle of the night and cry silently. And if Mama Isabella is on her daily night patrol, she would come to embrace little Emma and told her that everything will be okay, that her future family will be a wonderful and kind family. It would put a smile on little Emma and make her sleep better.

As she grows up, she would learn to be strong, not fearing her nightmare anymore.

After the escape, nightmares become something that Emma will experience maybe thrice a month.

At this moment, she will become anxious and restless, and maybe can't go back to sleep again.

Then there's one time when Ray decided to go to the toilet. And it's finally time for Ray to come to the picture. He will hear Emma's breathing become unsteady and maybe some sniffle, and know that something is wrong and go to check it out. From there he can speculate, that Emma is having a nightmare on some basis.

He will come to Emma's bed and ruffle her hair before asking what is wrong, with the most quiet voice as to not wake anyone.

Emma was surprised.

She proceed to apologize to Ray, and said that she is okay. Of course he isn't buying any of that. So he tell her to come out with him.

As they finally reached their destination, which is the farthest room from their resting place, Ray finally raised his voice and told Emma as to don't hold everything herself and believe in himself more. Ray said that he knows how she feels, and if she needs anything, he will be there. He also told her that he knows the burden to keep everyone alive and happy. At this point Emma's eyes were full of tears. Emma realized that there is someone who share the same burden as her. The same person who felt the most impact by the lost of Norman.

And Ray gave her a big hug, letting her to cry on his shirt while patting her head.

Then they sat on the floor, Emma still crying.

Ray then started to hum a nostalgic and familiar lullaby that Emma ever heard in the distant past, the same lullaby that put her to sleep after her nightmare.

After some time, Emma fell asleep on Ray, and he just smile before carrying her back to her bed.

After that day, Emma could only tell how she really feels to Ray. And Ray will be there, if that means can lessen her burden even just a little.
