Here it is! What you've been waiting for!! Excitment!!! :D I knew you'd like it. Now we're in the games, tell me what you think. Whose going to win? Ceasar? Maybe. But does he find some other way out? I ain't telling you! It's all in me head!

I eye Genie nervously. She nods, giving my jacket a smooth. This year's outfits consist of pants, made out of some indestructible material that feels like lead, and a light jacket and T-shirt. From what I can gather from the black leather jackets, it might be cold. The tubes that carry us up to the games are in place.

"30 seconds till launch." A female voice announces. A shiver runs down my spine.

"You'll be fine, dear!' Genie gives me a hug. "Remember what Dexter said? Run. Get out of there. Don't fall into the blood bath. Just run, and your sponsors will provide for you. You can win this."

"I can't, Genie. I'm not a fighter. I don't fight. I put on clothes and makeup. I don't want to be here..."

"20 seconds till launch." Genie just smooths my hair with a sad smile. "In all my days doing the reaping for district 2, I have to say, yours was by far the most teary. All the best of luck, Ceasar."

I climb into the tube, being told I only have 10 seconds - possibly of life - left.

It rises up, faster than the train we rode on, then comes to a halt. The cylinder lowers and the bright sunlight blinds me. "Whoa!" I take an intake of breath. The clock is ticking. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1.....

The sound of the gong makes me jump. I start immediately running, pelting, away from the wretched cornucopia as fast as i can. And then my eyes clear, and I begin to make sense of where I am. The arena looks like it's divided up into sections. The first section is a fresh water lake that stretches out over the entire arena, probably. Over the other side of the lake are piles and piles of rocks, all stacked up. Great hiding places, but what else lurks there? I face the rock pile, which is positioned at East, in the arena. North, there's a huge forest, where most of the tributes have taken off to. I can hear the sounds of blows at the cornucopia, and shiver. I have to make my mind up. Fast.

To my south, there's nothing. Literally. It's a huge expanse of desert . I don't know who in their right mind would go there, but that's probably the kind of people that would. And finally, to the West, there's mountains. Huge mountains. It would take all day just to climb them. With the forest looking dangerous, I head for the rocks. There's a lake to get across though, but there's a small bridge across the expanse. I head over the bridge, barring it up as best I can with rocks. Nobody else has taken me up on the idea of chasing me, because there's zip people out here. I keep running for about 1/2 an hour before I'm so tired that I have to sit down, and then another 15 minutes later and I find my cave. This cave is fairly small, about the size of a big car. But it will do. I search the rocks for anything comfortable, and to my delight, there's about a meter of forest stretching out. I can tell there's on animals in here. I'm going to have to rely on sponsors to feed me for tonight, before I go hunting in the lake. I strip off moss, and bark off a paper tree for bedding. Then, some wild flowers attract my atention and I pick some.

An hour later and I'm finished my home for the night. It's not much, but it will do. Tomorrow, I decide, I'll head over to the cornucopia and see what scraps I can dig up. If there's anything left, that is.

The sun starts to sink, and the temperature starts lowering, like the sun is drawing every bit of warmth. I wake up in the middle of the night, freezing, literally shaking with the cold. My teeth are chattering so hard that they are rattling in my head. I roll over and try to sink into the moss, but it offers comfort and not much else.

A gentle 'thunk' on the mouth of the cave and I'm running out to see what it is. Matches. "I love you, Dexter." I mutter. I've already collected sticks as a sort of weapon against intruders. But now I light the fire with a cold-bitten hand and it roars away brilliantly. The shivering stops, and I let my eyes close. I'm suddenly jerked awake by a loud noise. The anthem. I drag myself out of bed to look up at the sky, where the faces of the fallen are mirrored. District 7 comes up first, so 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have all made it. No surprises there. Both from 7 are gone, 1 from 8. Both from 9, and one from 11.

That means, there's still a field of tributes left to kill me. It's not looking promising.
