The alarm rings.

 

“Oh dear. It’s too early” Thaniess said as she stop the alarm clock.

 

“Oh my god! Today’s the day. Oh my goodness” Thaniess added.

 

She was about to stand up when. . . . 

 

The door knock.

 

“Come in” she said

 

One of the maids came in.

 

“Goodmorning ma’am. You’re mom and dad asked for your presence.

 

“What? Right now? Tsk. Oh dear….” Thaniess said worriedly.

 

“Yes ma’am. They are at the dining table. Eating” the maid said.

 

Thaniess stood up. Then said,

 

“Tell mom and dad that I’ll be going down later. I need a little more time to think. Okay?” Thaniess requested.

 

“As you pleased” the maid humbly said.

 

The maid went down from her room while Thaniess put her face in front of a mirror, thinking.

 

“UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES or SACRED HEART ACADEMY”???

 

“COLLEGE OF EDUCATION or BACHELOR IN ARTS MAJOR IN PERFORMANCE ARTS”???

 

“TEACHER or SINGER”???

 

Making decisions is really a hard thing. It’s not that easy you know.

 

 

 

 

Those are the things that Thaniess think. She really had a hard time deciding.

 

“Urrrgghhh!!! How could mom and dad do this to me?” Thaniess said while facing the mirror.

 

“Okay. I already decided. I hope my decision was right” she added.

 

Thaniess went down to the kitchen. When she arrived there, her mom and dad were about to leave.

 

“Mom! Dad! Where are you going?” she asked.

 

“Were about to go to your room, but you’re here already” her mom answered.

 

“Well?” her dad said.

 

“Well what?” she replied.

 

“Oh Thaniess, your decision. Hurry up. I’ve got lot of things to do” her dad scolded.

 

“Okay. Here it goes. Even if it’s hard for me, I choose to study at.  . . . . . Sacred Heart Academy” Thaniess said.

 

“I knew it. Good thing we already enrolled you there.” Her dad.

 

“What? But how?” she said.

 

“We already knew that you truly want to pursue your dream, so, we enrolled you at that school ahead of time” her mom.

 

Thaniess felt like she’s on hell, chatting with the devil. She feel angriness and sadness. Her parents are really, really killing him.

 

“Say what? The hell mom. You know what, I’m pissed of this kind of live you give to me. I’m 15. And I already know how to decide on my own” Thaniess said frankly.

 

“Shut up! We just want you to be the woman we wanted to be. Whatever you say, you’ll be studying at Sacred Heart Academy. Whatever you say or do” her dad added

 

“Fine! I’ll study there but mark my word dad, I’ll do my best just to make you realize that I choose the best career for me” Thaniess said.

 

“Good. This afternoon, you’ll be going there to get the requirements and your schedule. Is that understood?” her mom said to her.

 

She feels frustrated.

 

“Okay. I will” she replied slowly.

 

She was half happy because she can take the course she wanted to but half sad because she will be studying at a catholic school again. She already knows that it’s very strict and she cannot do every single thing that she wants to do. In other words, she’s like a prisoner.

 

 

 

At the school premises. . . . . (Sacred Heart Academy)

 

Thaniess went in to the school. She walked along the hall way, filled with lockers on the side. It was a big school though. There was a big statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus near the flag pole. 

 

She went to the office.

 

She said, “Goodafternoon ma’am. I’m Thaniess Freyna Llanera, I’m a transferee here and I’m here  to get my schedule and my handbook”.

 

“What course are you taking up?” the cashier replied.

 

“I’m taking Bachelor of Arts in Major in Performing Arts ma’am. First year” Thaniess said to the cashier proudly.

 

“Oh! I see! Here is your schedule ma’am. I hope you enjoy your stay here at Sacred Heart Academy” the cashier said to Thaniess while smiling.
