{Completed} Lady Juliette Van Helsing is no ordinary blushing Lady of the Society. As the first Lady Knight of Monrique, she regularly deals with cases, criminals and knaves of all sorts who threaten the peace and security of her country. Feared and respected by all, she is unafraid to prove her worth to all those who think her incapable of being an Army officer just because she is a woman. However, when a string of brutal murders among the nobility take place in quick succession, leaving behind one puzzle after another, she begins a race against time to find the murderer. Crown Prince Nicholas of Monrique, sole heir to the throne, is no stranger to death and danger. He returns to his homeland from his studies abroad after a decade, only to find that the Privy Council wishes him to participate in the Potential Courdate to find a bride and produce a spare heir with all haste. When the Lady Knight is appointed as his Advisor for this quest, he becomes even more bitter. The two have hated each other since childhood, and they each have their own reasons not to embark on this journey. Bound by duty, unfortunately, they are forced to do so. However, when it becomes clear that the murderer is aiming for the Crown Prince through these murders, the Lady Knight knew she had to put aside all her hatred for this man and work towards protecting him to the best of her ability. Among the Balls, the Ladies of the Society, the grandeur, webs of lies, betrayals and greed are unraveled, and at each turn, she finds her old beliefs and assumptions being questioned. Amidst all of this chaos, will she be able to fulfill her duty, and mayhap, find love along the way?
Ah! This is really the most fantastic Historic Fiction I have come across! The story about the valour of Stong-headed Lady Knight which is rare to find are really an epic to read! One can really experience the fiery gallantry shone by Juli! <3
