National City's Miniature Golf Course
"Names please?" The lady cashier asked.
"Barry Allen and Kara Danvers." Barry answered for the two of them.
"Alright." The cashier entered their names into the computer and handed them a scorecard with their names printed on it, "Here you guys are. Now what colored golf ball would you like?"
"Let me get a red one." Barry answered. He then turned to Kara, "And I'm assuming you're going to want a blue one."
"How did you know." Kara joked, already knowing the answer to that question.
"Here you two are." The cashier gave Barry a set of golf clubs and golf balls, "Can I help you two with anything else this evening?"
"No, thank you though." Barry said beginning to walk away.
"Alright. You lovely couple have a nice date." The cashier commented as he waved good-bye.
"Wait what? No. We're just friends, we are not on a date." Barry tried to correct her but it was lot late as the cashier had already moved onto the next customer and didn't pay attention to him.
Kara couldn't help but giggle at Barry's facial expression.
Hole one
"Can you believe that guy thinks we are on a date." Barry commented.
"Yeah." Kara said casually as she looked down course to find the hole.
"Really? Why?" Barry asked curious.
"Well tell Mr. Allen. What do you first think of when you see a boy and a girl, in their twenties, out on a Friday night, alone, having a fun?"
"A date... Ohhhh!" Barry said realizing it as soon as he said it, "I see it now. But that still doesn't make it right for a person to assume something like that."
"Yeah. Yeah." Kara said not paying attention to what he was saying anymore. She was to focused on figuring out who she was going to line up her shot.
"Aren't you worried about how we look?" Barry questioned her attitude.
"The only thing that you, Barry Allen..." Kara said pointing the golf club at Barry's face, "Should be worried about, is losing."
Barry began to chuckle at her determined face. He noticed the passion she had in her eyes, "You really take miniature golf seriously don't yay."
"Yes. It's my second greatest passion right after being Supergirl." Kara laughed.
"What about your job?" Barry questioned her priorities.
"Are we going to talk or are we going to golf." Kara said pointing at his face again.
"Alright, Girl of Steel. You want to golf." Barry said begin to feel a competitive fire ignite inside him, "Let's golf."
Barry placed down his ball down on the starting stand and looked for hole out in front. Since it was the first hole, there was no obstacles or curves, it was just a straight path down. Barry began to sway his golf club back and forth ever so slightly to build up momentum. He concentrated on the ball's position and then looked out towards the hole. He got an idea of how much force he wanted to hit the ball with and then with one swing, he tapped the ball.
The red ball began to roll down the course at a normal controlled pace. It went down in a straight path, absolutely no curve, and as it approached the hole, the ball began to slow down. The closer it got to the hole, the more speed the ball began to lose. As the ball approached the last inch it practically had lost all it's momentum. It reached the edge of the hole, but had lost all it's movement completely, it was up to gravity now. The ball only rocked back and forth because it was balancing itself on the edge. It felt like an eternity, like the ball was never going to decide whether or not it wanted to drop inside the hole or not. Just as Barry was about to lose hope... the ball dropped inside.
