Alana’s POV:
Michael was once again sitting down with his back against the wall, arms on his knees and his head tilted back leaning on the wall. His eyes were closed and although he may look relaxed, the uneven breathing told me he was still tense. I observed from my spot, cross legged on the opposite side of the small space, my back leaning against the uncomfortable bars.
The cold cylinders were digging into my back and I shifted my weight to get a comfortable position. We had been sitting for what felt like hours in a silence, which I wasn’t sure was comfortable or awkward, but in reality it had only been about 20 minutes. Tops.
I wasn’t sure about Michael, but knowing that the cell door were unlocked and anything could go down created a new atmosphere. I winced slightly as the corner of my shoulder pressed against the metal, quickly sucking in a sharp breath. Michael’s head snapped to meet mine, but I smiled stiffly at him.
‘I’m sorry.’ He said quietly and a jolt of guilt shot through me.
‘It’s all good. Don’t worry about it.’ I waved it off. In reality it wasn’t that bad, it just stung a bit from being a fresh cut. He shouldn’t be sorry about something so minor compared to what I did to him. Huffing slightly with a small growl, he shook his head furiously for a moment before springing to his feet. Slighting cautious, I slowly rose to my feet and spoke in a low quiet voice.
‘Michael, are you okay?’ My arm was slightly reaching out to him but his back was turned to me. ‘Calm down, its okay.’ I said, reassuring him on whatever was going through his mind.
‘I fucking hurt you. I went against my word Alana. For fuck sake.’ He yelled facing me, his eyes full of anger. He kicked the broken bed frame sending it flying over near me and I cowered away from it, etching my way out the cell door.
‘Fuck!’ he cursed again. My eyes were wide in fright as I watched him loose control once more. His eyes glowing bright red as he cursed, yelled and kicked the poor metal frame around the cell. The loud echoes in the small room were deafening to a point where I was covering my ears to block out the slightest bit of the metal on metal sound.
This went on for minutes, the loud sounds, the angry yelling and with each minute Michael’s wolf slowly came out even more. Only mere minutes later, Michael had claws for hands, sharp k nines for teeth and excess hair all over his body.
‘Michael.’ I said quietly hoping to get his attention. When the bed frame was thrown again I spoke louder. ‘Michael!’
The only thing breaking the silence that hung in the air was the growls that were involuntarily from Michael and both of our increased breathing. ‘Please, just calm down. Throwing a bed frame won’t do you any good in the long run.’ I spoke to him, trying to be firm but not push his wolf to think I was trying to control him.
He didn’t speak but stayed frozen in his spot, looking at me with a blank face and red eyes. ‘It will be okay, but you need to take a deep breath.’
He didn’t take a deep breath, but instead took a slow step towards me. His height was intimidating as he slowly stalked over to me but I didn’t back away. On the inside I was freaking out. Knowing his wolf could have finally got to the point of wanting revenge on me, wanting to kill me after breaking the bond, the thought was racing through my mind.
I should have locked the cell when I could have, I should have left to sleep somewhere else tonight, I should have done anything but stay here. I mentally scolded myself.
