"Joesph Sugg, are you ready?!"
"Yes Sir!" Joe threw his arm up, his hand curled into a fist and looked triumphant. Dianne shot him a glare and kept her eyes on him until he lowered his arm.Since being partnered up a couple of weeks ago, Joe had used the break in between the filming of the launch and the first week of training to get his body into shape. He wanted to put everything he physically could into Strictly and the first thing that would help was building muscle; it had been one of the first things Dianne suggested to him. Along with always making sure he had plenty of food with him.
Watching himself in the mirror, Joe flexed his arms to see if his efforts had gone to waste.
"Dianne, look! I've got muscles!" He cheered as he turned to face his partner. Dianne looked up from her phone and let her eyes look him over.
"So you do!" She switched her phone off and walked over to where he was stood in the middle of the floor, holding up his t-shirt and checking his abs.
"I can see a one, two, three, four, five, six pack there Joe!" She said, each time poking his stomach as she counted. "Well done, you're a good student" Dianne whispered, looking straight into Joe's eyes and running her hand over his bare skin, feeling each ab under her palm.
"I try" Joe said quietly, keeping Dianne's gaze. His breath caught in his throat as he felt her hand stroking over his now-toned stomach. It was as if she was doing it without thinking. All of sudden, a blush crept up her neck as she realised what she was doing. Seeing the pink, Joe pressed his lips to Dianne's cheek.
"Shall we get started Di?"
"Uh yeh, I'll... I'll just go and put some music on and we can do a warm-up." She turned and walked back to the corner, rubbing a hand across the back of her neck. Joe smiled as he watched her. He was doing his best to drop subtle hints that he wanted what they had before but either Dianne was ignoring them or was completely oblivious but he was going to keep trying."You have not drank anything for a solid two hours. Will you please go and get some water - I'm worried you are going to faint."
"Fine." With a huff, Dianne stood up from where she had been helping Joe stretch and walked over to the side of the room to get her water. When she looked back over at Joe, she saw him grimacing as he moved from the position she'd put him in to stretch his hips.
"Nope, don't think you are getting out of it that easily!" She said as she swallowed some water. Dianne put the bottle back down on the table and marched over to Joe. She leant on his back and shoulders to push him further.
"Please stop. That kills!" Joe groaned.
"Does it feel like anything is tearing or ripping?"
"No?"
"Well then, it's good pain. You can go a bit further then." She added a little more weight, held it for a few seconds and stood up. Joe let out a sigh of relief as he moved to bring his legs in front of him.
"I'm not sure if I want to do this anymore if you're gonna do that to me everyday" Joe said, shaking his head as he stood up.
"I will personally hunt you down" Dianne threatened, her voice quiet and unnerving. "Besides" she spoke normally, "we won't have time after this first dance because you only get one week for the rest of them."
"Phew" Joe wiped his brow, "I'm safe then."
"I suppose. Come on, we'll run through what we've got and then, providing it goes well, I'll call it a day. It's about seven now."Joe pulled his jacket on and zipped up his bag. As he straightened up with the strap in his hand, he felt a warm hand on his shoulder. Turning round, he was stood face-to-face with Dianne.
"Well done today, you've done really well" she smiled. "If you keep it up, you could be a good little dancer."
"Thanks Di, you're a pretty good teacher so I guess you've got yourself to thank."
"Give yourself some praise, you've been amazing." She reached up slightly and wrapped her arms around Joe's neck, breathing in his homely scent. Dianne felt his strong arms around her back, holding her close to him. Joe moved his head so his lips were brushing against Dianne's ear.
"I've missed you Di, so much." Her heart fluttered as she heard his soft words.
"I've missed you too Joe, more than I could explain. But I think we need to chat." As expected, she felt Joe drop his arms and move back so he could read her expression.
"Uh okay. What about?" He asked.
"Us" Dianne gestured between their two bodies. "About what's going to happen between us."
"Okay, do you uh... do you want to come over and we can talk about it over dinner?"
"That would be good."
"My cars here, so let's go."Both adults sat at the breakfast bar, a plate of food each in front of them. Dianne took a sip from her water before starting to eat. Joe dropped the question after they had finished eating and were sat on the sofa.
"So what happens to us?" He asked.
"It's complicated" Dianne sighed, "we've got Strictly to think about now. I don't want either of us being distracted from dancing for a few reasons. This is your only opportunity to show what you can do and I want to get you as far as I possibly can in this competition. I need to be fully focused on the dancing, so do you if you are serious about this. It's not an easy ask."
"I know, I want to do the best I can for you" Joe said gently, "but I think... yeh I think I'd like to give it a go."
"So do I Joe. I miss every little thing about you but I don't know if it's a good idea while we are training. You can't be getting side-tracked by me!"
"I wouldn't Di. We would be dance partners in the competition and whoever we want to be outside of it." As he spoke, Joe shuffled closer to Dianne on the sofa and gently stroked over the back of her hand.
"I don't know Joe. I'm just not sure if it would be a good idea." She watched Joes thumb as it moved over her hand, tracing shapes onto her skin.
"Okay."
Dianne looked up, "Okay? You're just gonna...okay yeh."
"I will wait until you are ready, I would like to try it. We had such a good few months and I don't want to throw it away. It really changed me, Di."
"Joe" she breathed. "Thank you." Dianne turned her body and wrapped her arms around Joe's, her head resting on his shoulder. "Thank you for understanding me." Joe didn't respond but Dianne was sure she felt a kiss being placed onto the back of her head. A smile flickered across her face. She couldn't help it, she was happy to have Joe back.- we're back pitches!!
I'm really hoping someone got that
