We talked for a while, just sitting there, together. It was nice. I finally decided, when it was 4:37, that I needed to go home. After all, it would be getting dark soon.

"It was lovely to see you again Mae." Daniel said with a smile as he stood up.

"It was lovely to see you as well Daniel." I said back to him. He bowed, and I laughed as he did so. He gave me a full toothed smile and slipped his hand into mine.

I just looked at him and his eyes met mine with a beautiful shimmer.

"C'mon," he said nodding in the direction of the gate."I'll walk you home."

The rain had stopped for the most part and we walked hand in hand in silence. It was nice. It was lovely. Than that same old couple I saw earlier was walking by.

"Oh what a cute couple you too make." The woman said to us.

"Thank you." Daniel said with a grin. I just shook my head and we continued to walk till we were at my door.

"I had a great time with you Mae." He said to me.

"I had a great time too." It appears to me that when it comes to goodbyes, I always copy what he says because I'm too awed by him to think of originality.

He smiles at me and then let's go of my hand and slips his hands back into his pockets. He walks down the steps and I watch him until he is out of sight.

For some reason I can't help but smile. When I'm with him I forget all of my pain and sorrows. I forget about my brother and our lonely house, I forget about the broken mirrors and shattered glass. I'm not sure what it is, but I think I really really like him.
