Short description: (Jack & Elsa)
Elsa was rejected, Jack didn't like the fact that she acted like everything was okay.
----/----/----/----
"I'm not fine." That's probably not something you don't want to hear in a conversation.
But I wanted to hear it from her. Badly.
It was raining that time, as if it was trying to match the mood of the tragedy that just happened. Elsa confessed to her childhood best friend after keeping her feelings to herself for years.
She got rejected.
She didn't say anything other than apologize. Why did she apologize? Wasn't it her feelings that got hurt?
"It's fine. I'm fine. I'm sorry." That's the exact words she told him right after telling her he didn't feel the same way.
I'm not a stalker. Just a passerby. But I saw it play out. It's not fine.
I might not know Elsa as long as he did, but judging by that small speech she gave it seems she has it bad.
And after that confession she just chose to run to the rain.
I'm not gonna lie, I expected the guy to at least tell her not to go get herself soaked in the rain. She obviously didn't have an umbrella nor was she wearing a raincoat. He didn't.
I don't know why I ran after her despite not even being close to her, but that interaction boosted that I guess.
"You heard didn't you?" She told me with a smile, staring at something from a distance as we shared the umbrella. She was sitting on a wet bench while I stood beside her.
"Not all of it." I lied.
"Did you... you didn't have to come here and... cheer me up." Elsa seemed like she didn't know what to say. I can't blame her, this is a little out of character of me.
"I just thought you could use an umbrella." I said, which is not a complete lie.
"It's okay, really. I'm fine, my apartment is a few blocks away. I can walk my way there." She finally stood up.
"Walk your way to your apartment?" I raised an eyebrow to her.
"It's not like it's the first time I'd be walking my way home." She laughed, flashing me a smile afterwards before walking ahead.
"You never walked your way home on a rain." I pointed out.
"There's a first for everything." She said, her smile never fading.
Stop smiling please.
I didn't know why I followed her with my umbrella. Half of my shoulder is already basically wet now and the other half might as well be from occasionally bumping to Elsa.
"You don't have to walk me back." Elsa said.
"My apartment is on the same street." I simply said. She just nodded in response.
There was silence while we walked, I could see Elsa visibly shaking slightly. I wanted to offer my jacket but it was already wet too. Plus, knowing Elsa she'd just say something along the lines of not being bothered by the cold.
"There's your apartment." She pointed at my apartment building. I just stared at it while I continued walking, Elsa stood still. "Aren't you going?" She asked.
I didn't talk, I just stared back at her. She laughed and looked down.
"Alright then." She said, barely a mutter but it was loud enough to hear for me even with the sound of the rain.
